Thanks to Google I can ge caught browsing PDS forums at work even while doing actual work

So, because google ads keeps track of past browsing, it displays adds relevant to it. This (probably) wouldn't show up if I had never browsed PDS forums while at work (NOT instead of working).

I guess it does matter if I use incognito mode or not after all...

They blocked Chrome extensions! I've never seen that before, but yeah, I tried getting ad blockers a long time ago!

Too bad you don't work at PDS. Then browsing the forums might count as working.

EDIT: True story time:

When I was writing the HOI3 book, my spouse would come home and see me browsing the forum. She'd ask what I had been up to all day, and I'd say, "Just working." And it was the truth, too.

I could tell you 2 semi easy ways to get around them, however if they (the IT staff) are really actually competent, the ramifications if caught might impose severe restrictions on you ability to access the building where you work.

I only use them if I don't actually work for the same company as the IT staff I am circumventing

Yeah, I'd rather get caught browsing games forums than get caught trying to load a script from a non-exe file, copy the files from a thumb drive or try to trick the proxy in a way I don't even know exist yet.

All I can do is ask: Why are you logging into your PERSONAL accounts from your work computer. I have multiple google accounts that I log into, one specifically dedicated to work. Although I do that so that I don't get bombarded with work related links while at home, not the other way around.

he should go incognito when he is off mission at work, and use a separate google account between work and personal. this all assumes his work cares about such things, otherwise who cares?
