It's not magic transports. You build the transports when you build assault armies, and they cost extra maintenance and minerals to account for this. Defense armies cost less precisely because they get no transports.

Huh, well in any case this system manages to put a bullet in one of the least fun bits of micromanagement from previous Paradox games.

E: so I guess you guys enjoy having to manage your transport fleet? I say no thank you.

:( too bad, I would have loved to have magical troops.

Anyway, can a really strong world produce more defensive troops than the attacker is able to send to that planet? Are unsiegeable planet a thing or once you have fleet superiority you can take everything?

Thanks Wiz! Yes I agree 100% on your comment; I used the word 'magic transports' because that's the way they are usually called by micromanagers. Yes it is kind of mocking and I admit it doesn't really do me honor.

BTW if you could implement something like this in EU4 and HoI4 I would be happy.

EDIT: I don't care how it is implemented gameplay-wise or how is that rationalized as long as we can get rid of manual transport ships. My (limited) gaming time is too valuable to be spent micromanaging transports. ;)

Yeah they are fine. I'm just wondering is it just me or did it seem to be an instant transfer? Because that doesn't seem balanced.

I like for the process to be automated when you order it done, but I'd prefer that it takes a reasonable amount of time to get done, it feels really weird otherwise.

Resettlement being instant isn't something we really want, but might not have time to fix for release. I doubt it'll stay that way forever.

Can you convert Assault Troops into defensive troops, to diminish the maintenance cost, if you relocated them to a vulnerable border world?

Also no. Both are fine enough ideas, but nothing we have planned for release.

HoI has kinda magic boats, they operate in abstract in a way. Today I'm transporting troops across the Channel, and tomorrow I'm retaking Midway using the same "resource".

HOI has no magic boats either. It has convoys, which you build and use.

The 'Enduring' trait has a bonus of 100% militia health. Is the Militia the same as Defensive Army?
I would assume it's a "free" army you get added to your proper army to fight off invasions. I guess it could just be the defensive army but that's a weird name to give a standing professional defensive army.
