In spite of the recent, numerous lookalike threads that have popped up over the past two days protesting the Ottoman nerfs – a fair amount of them even before the DLC was released, and all of them from a very vocal minority – I think I can speak for the majority of the fans and users on the forums that Paradox finally addressing the elephant in the room and nerfing the Ottos (amongst others) was a very welcome change. They're still powerful and capable of conquering their immediate neighbors (as they should), but the almost Calvinistic determinism that used to drive that is now gone; much like France, Castile, Austria, Sweden, et cetera, there’s now an actual margin of error on their part. They move a bit more slowly than they used to at start (as they should), and as a result the region now feels like it can have actual variation in outcome – and for that matter, you actually have to pay attention when you play as the Ottos now.
In short, thank you for continuing to improve upon and balance the game.
