Since After Dark was released, we see that daytime has changed. At first I thought the texture quality was a result of the new daytime sky and sun intensity. But BloodyPenguin's Classic Daytime mod along with his Clouds and Fog Toggler http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=523824395 exposes that there is something beyond the saturation and dark shadows that is affecting our textures and the way they're being rendered in game. The easiest examples to see this is with trees. Both vanilla and custom tree alpha maps are not the way it was before After Dark and it looks like texture quality was reduced or blurred. And our leaves look worse the further we zoom out as though the leaves are fusing together to form a mass.

The following are some comparison shots of my trees. Keep in mind that I have BloodyPenguin's Classic Daytime mod http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=530871278 along with Dynamic Resolution mod http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=406629464 enabled and depth of field turned way down...almost off to get the best visuals as I could with our current build.

This is the Young Birch tree. The alpha map on this is so simple, it's almost as if the leaves are modeled and without an alpha map. But since AD, it have a very blurry and reduced look

Next look at the Shady Tree. I took a shot from the same street as I did when making the preview images. You can clearly see the difference.

And the bush which is made of 100% alpha map on meshes even with depth of field and all fog and clouds turned completely off in the very last pic.

As you can see, the alpha is now handled in such a way that billboards are very obvious and the leaves are no longer looking separate and clean but mashed together with some white fringing at the edges. The blurriness is at closer views and getting worse further back. The same happens to buildings but they are not as obvious as trees but if you look in the Shady Tree example above, you can see the jeep much more blurry than it was before. Please look into this and bring back the way textures was rendered before After Dark.

Well they needed to do something to keep AD specs near vanilla specs so they could say yes same specs.

Perhaps we'll get back what was previously, maybe the dev's will beat all the extra fat out of AD along with those enhancements and few limits lifted :)

Surely developing Skylines means that there will eventually be extra burden, looking at other direction would be a no go for the development of the game.

I'm sure CO/Paradox will make history with this game :)

Ps. the new version of the tree limit remover mod allows to turn off leaf (wind) movement...........

Ps. the new version of the tree limit remover mod allows to turn off leaf (wind) movement...........

I just read about this. What he updated in the mod allows trees to not block wind when you place a lot of them and will let the wind keep strong or your can turn off that option and let the trees block some wind.

Here's what he said
"- New "Disable wind effects" option. This one disables tree's from effecting 'wind' in your maps option. (does not effect saves.. you can turn on and off at will before map load). Basically lots of trees around will reduce wind somewhat, which is sort of logical I guess, if you don't like that about the game you can use the new option and get back your wind! ;)"

This doesn't mean we can disable trees from swaying back and forth. I would still like that feature added in the asset editor so I can choose to disable individual trees from moving at all regardless if someone has a mod or not.
