text size and fonts too damn small

I'm a long time gamer and appreciate trying out new games. I am limited to what games I can play and get into because I have problems with contrast and small text(+fonts). I have tried to change the resolution to several sizes with no luck in font size changes. Is this a fixed size font? cuz no matter what size the screen is the font size is always the same damn size - TOO SMALL and unreadable. Help? o

Changing resolution in Windows doesn't help.
Changing the resolution of the game could help, but only slightly and the fonts tend to get fuzzy, which makes it kind of worse.

..and of course modding it yourself.
