WAR!!
Bohemia joins, of course, cmon bastards, let's go have 'm! Lets settle some grudges!! My vassals join AND SPAIN JOINS TOO!!
On their side, Austria and Münster don't flinch and brace for the shock.
The combined force of the Prussian alliances has:
- 102 000 cavalry (mine are all Eastern Hussars)
- 214 263 infantry (and mine is 80% Maurician while the rest is Landsknechten)
- 2000 pieces of artillery
The type and quality of my allies' forces are unknown.
Their alliance comprises of:
- 39 000 cavalry
- 76 600 infantry
- 1000 artillerypieces
Type and quality unknown.
If we'll just compare some numbers here, not taking quality into account:
- Our cavalry outnumbers their cavalry bij 2.6 to 1
- Our Infantry outnumbers their infantry by 2.7 to 1
- Artillery isn't really a factor here, but obviously, that's 2 to 1
I have no idea about the respective manpowerreserves, but for once, mine are nearly full.
The stability drop was a mere 1. I can start with confidence.

The first reports from the fields if battle report that the Austrians are also fielding Mauricians.
October 1566: The Habsburg stronghold in Oldenburg has fallen and there are no more Habsburg troops in the region. Munster buckles and is forced to cede Osnabrück while paying 325 (!!!) ducats in damages AND becoming a Prussian vassal. The defeated Dutchmen can only bow their hands and accept. The 15 000 men of the victorious armies in that regio are kept there on garrisonduty to secure the Prussian back from any rebellions.
The arms wrestle and both are giving all they have in them, when in November, Austria offers a white peace. Their muscles must be burning by now. A HUGE battle is going on in Eastern Austria and we're both feeding men into it.
February 1568: The Prussians control all of Lithuania and are bending over peace resolutions. The fighting in Austria is still brutal and bloody, but several Austrian provinces have already fallen into our hands. Battles between numbers of troops never seen before on the European mainland, soak the soil with blood. Various nationalist rebels are taking Prussia's war exhaustion as an opportunity to fight for their ideals. This might become problematic
They sure have lost a lot of land, but their armies are still in for the fight. My manpower is nearly drained and the rebellions are a real problem. It looks like we can't defeat them in one go. I never expected that, but I thought I'd get more out of them. I'm hoping to capture their capital and 1 or 2 more cities and then I'll sue for peace (for now).
I get them to release Oldenburg, Franken and Poznan.
This time, I had to fight two big nations and now we know the Austrians can be beaten. The balance of nations has changed again. The Prussians have strengthened their position again and are licking their wounds.
Lessons learned from this war:
- Spain committed almost no troops at all and my vassals were of almost no importance at all.
- The Austrians united their troops into 1 superarmy which defeated my smaller, but still large, armies several times. In case of another war, I need one superarmy to fight theirs.
