Drew,
Actually, changing victory conditions hurt me more than you.
Had we used those from the beginning, France would've won within a year. And had we stuck with capitols, we would've stalemated out.
Still, I agree with John. Pretty even odds. Slight edge due to morale and manpower to you guys, and the fact that there were two of you, but generally... A good run. Villars, though, was off-set by my land DP.
I think France can only do either serfdom or land. It can't do both.
Well, as I recall, I stated my objectives.. 3 cores.. Brabant-Lombardia and Mantua. Misinpretation or whatever, as Prussia took Brabant for no apparent reason then and I could've easily taken Romagna and Mantua after hitting Lombardia had I known what was desired for Victory Conditions.<ending our Fiasco in a few months not a year, for my side not yours> I suppose some thought that the 'equation' was unfair and thus decided to change them. Nevertheless, KJ's brilliance prevailed<good Fighter>. Instead of Freeing my Territory in Alasce-Luxembourg and Pfalz, I was stuck clashing heads in Plains Artois which was a complete waste. My Infantry stationed North, my Cav stationed South. Effectively screwing me... If not for Prussian Genius, and organization, I would've be out... Likely lost a lot of territory but unlikely Vienna. Most of the time I sat idle in Alasce with a bunch of Cav for a Parisian Assualt when the Final decision was made to switch objectives. Next time, more clearly stated objectives need to be hatched out before a War is pursued. I feel that Prussia and Austria won 3 of 3 Objectives and were not rewarded. Paris fell, and I believe it would've regardless of French resistance.
Austria only won on the Italian Front and that's because France couldn't afford to split it's Cavalry nor great Shock Leader.
Paris fell along with the original agreed objectives. Prussia is a "Power"... Austria is merely a tag-along.
I know that more inexperienced hands held power in Vienna before I did, planting Full Inno, leaving Balkans to OE and being unable to trade at all leaves me in a tough spot, I've tried to do what I can do. Austria should've expanded 3 fold what it had before I took it over...150 years of fiddling...I have given Mouth to Mouth to the Poor little Central Euro. I think that if I had all of Italy, maybe I would be a contender, that and Pluto/FreeTrade<Trade Tech no InfraTech early>, 2 more CoTs. Though otherwise not being able to hit 200-250 Income makes you effectively 'worthless'. I doubt that Austria will afford more than 4-5 CCs.. France will have one in every Province. That means that in about 50 years your Support limit could be 3 fold mien. Even Prussia is a bit smaller, just fortunate to have some High MP Provinces under his Rule.. I really think the end game here will not include much of an Austria. I will have to follow one of you Giants as a Minor Contender. Complementing you or another
France is a Beautiful Nation. She possesses, numerous CoTs, vast Manpower, Leadership beyond any others, and by watching soon she'll have a High Seas Fleet with an Admiratly to be admired. Her Morale for Land is a bit laggy, but she can with the proper terrain and manuevering outplay 'most'. She'll have some trouble without her leaders on the offensive, but otherwise she may very well prove to be a Monster
Who can contend, it'll take a Combo, only that can take her. Neither Prussia nor Austria could've done it Alone, I think that is a 'fact', nor could any other nation on Earth do it alone, longterm.... Russia, maybe
