I thought it was the one with the highest bid. i.e. if my highest bids are 60% for A and 55% for B and the highest bids by anyone else are 45% for A and 15% for B, then I get A for 45.1%. I do not have the choice to go for B at 15.1% although I would if it was offered.

You are again correct. That is what it says in the rules. I assumed his bid was the same for both nations, but he does in fact not say so. Thanks! :)

You could avoid this situation by requiring players not to submit identical bids for any nations.

Hey, I believe we have gotten ourselves a really intelligent man!

So be it. No two identical bids allowed. In case you do want to make the same bids in inflation you can always distinguish them by adding a different amount of ducats as a tiebreaker.

Arco, Power Rating takes 100% theoretical morale.

Tonio,

We are talking about the following two parts of the power calculation:

1. the army morale
2. the navy morale

I have already changed post 4 so that it now refers to morale at 50% maintenance instead of 100%. The relevant part of that post now looks like this:

====================================
C) ARMY AND NAVY MORALE

For each 0.1 higher morale at 50% maintenance your army has compared to the one human player who has the lowest such morale you get 1 PP.
Same for navy morale.

Formula: (Your morale at 50% maintenance - the lowest human ditto) / 10.

Example. You have 4.5 in morale at 50% maintenance for army. The lowest such morale for any human played nation in the game is 3.7. Then you get 4.5-3.7 = 0.8 i.e. 8 PP for your army morale value. Then do the same calculation for your navy morale.

====================================

Pls change the formula accordingly. :)

Guys.....you are not seriously thinking about bids of 50% inflation i hope....well your choice ofcourse :D

Good luck bidding, seems like i'll get nation last with that kind of bids.

I have now concluded that phase of the analysis which deals with assigning each nation a value that depicts the degree of difficulty it is to play that nation. These values ended up in a range between 18 (most difficult) and 59 (easiest) for me.

Funny enough it was the nation I instinctively believed was the easiest that ended up as the easiest when I made this analysis. A quite detailed analysis BTW, taking into consideration nine different factors each given a weight of its own.

The next step is to transform it to a percentage value for the auction. How will I do that? The answer is that I do not know. :p

BTW, if someone wonders, you can of course offer bids that includes decimals for the inflation. The game can store many decimals. So offer for example 44.375% inflation if you want to do that.

the game calculates these decimals during the game. For the save file the limitation us X.X %, so only 44.4% is possible.

Added this little thing to the tiebreaking procedure for the auction.

"In case there are two or more players offering the same amount of inflation and the treasury deduction is used as a tiebreaker the amount of ducats the winner must pay from his treasury is the amount offered by his closest opponent + 1d."

Post 6 has now been updated with correct monarch ID ranges for all 11 nations in the game.

Also you can now just copy the monarch section from that post and merely fill in your values and PM it. See that post and you will understand how to do it.

I have been thinking about the end phase. Perhaps a little early but anyhow. Perhaps we should have some limitations on what you can do those last few years in the game.

One thing could be to forbid any DOWs after say 1814.

The advantages would be:

1. That there is a good chance all would reach their MP pool cap at the end of the game (we use the current MP pool as a power value, and not the MP pool cap and that is a problem as has been mentioned)

2. It would also perhaps eliminate all or at least much of the reduced tax value due to revolt risk from a long war.
