Hello. Is there any hidden trigger for terraforming tech? Iv unlocked tech for needed resources (special gas or water, can't remember). My fleet has power around 100k and 1/3 of middle circle map is a part of my empire already in that game. But still theres no needed for terraforming tech to choose. In my previous game iv unlocked that tech without any problems and MUCH earlier then time in my last game at the moment... Is it just a bad luck with tech's random or my mistake? Thanks.

As far as I know, you can influence the chance for getting the technology by hirering a researcher with the right specialization. Aside from that the chacne might be higher if one of your neighbours has completed their research. If the corresponding strategic ressources work in your favor I don't know. My guess is, that you just have bad luck.

If you can see the Terraformign resources, you already HAVE the Terraforming tech. Terestial Sculpting is what unlocks both (basic) Terraforming and the Resources to make Terraforming cheaper.
Could it be that you are trying to cross the Hydrosphere category without the proper subtech? Because that is impossible.

The only lockout on Terraforming tech is that you need to have surveyed your homesystem. Eventual Anomalies do not need to be solved for this to count.

A scientist with "New worlds" trait can research sculpturing after unlocking colony ships. It's a very early tech, but you have to be lucky to get it early if you don't have a scientist with this trait.

I jsut looked at the files. Apparently the wieght is divided by 3 if you lack a New Worlds specialist.

Code:
tech_terrestrial_sculpting = {
    cost = @tier1cost3
    area = society
    tier = 1
    category = { new_worlds }
    prerequisites = { "tech_colonization_1" }
    weight = @tier1weight3

    feature_flags = {
        build_terraform_station
    }

    weight_modifier = {
        modifier = {
            factor = 0.33
            NOT = {
                research_leader = {
                    area = society
                    has_trait = "leader_trait_expertise_new_worlds"
                }
            }
        }
        modifier = {
            factor = 0
            NOT = { has_country_flag = homesystem_surveyed }
            is_ai = no
        }
    }

    ai_weight = {
        modifier = {
            factor = 1.25
            research_leader = {
                area = society
                has_trait = "leader_trait_expertise_new_worlds"
            }
        }
    }
}

Final values:
600 cost.
90 weight with new World Specialist.
30 weight without new World specialist.
Never without the Flag "home_system_surveyed".
