RNGesus is not with me today. Huge, spiral (4 arms) map with 15 ai civs (all advanced starts) with random empire placement and ironman on, and I end up sandwiched between a Evangelizing Zealot and a Fanatical Purifier. This will either be a very interesting game or a very short one.

Pretty much likely, the fanatical purifier shares my home world preference and i have a 25 and 24 tile continental world next to me. I'm predicting that the second I land on a new planet one of the two of them will declare war on me. Hopefully I can hide behind my spaceports.

Yeah I posted the picture before I looked at the screenshot. Saw a fanatic militarist and collectivist empire and freaked. Turns out there actually nice lizard people and have been protecting me since I met them. Still gonna have to declare war on them one day though. Pity.

Well here's and update of my galaxy after my first war.

Managed to take a chunk out of the Huviduzza Empire (the Fanatical Purifiers) and set up a puppet republic that I intend to feed the rest of the Huvisuzza's planets as soon as the truce is over. Of course the second I declared war on theme both the Tzynn Empire and Belmacosa Prima Empire (that purple blob in the Outer Rim) decided to join the fun. I should have been more aggressive in taking worlds from the Huviduzza but I wanted to make sure i could vassalize the new country I liberated so only took two systems from them.

Met some more neighbors, still not a lot of options for allies though. The combined Provinces is another Fanatical Purifier while the Buvhondon Mandate (Xenophobic Isolationist) dashed my hopes of any peaceful expansion. Would try to ally with the Kel-Azaan Republic (a Democratic Crusader like me) but they've decided to join up with the Purifying Order.

Speaking of the Purifying Order I'm considering declaring war on them soon but not how well that will turn out for me. They have managed to ally themselves with the both the Kel-Azaan Republic and the Belmacosa Prima Empire and not sure if my fleet can bet theirs before back up arrives.

So I still in a tight spot but overall my situation has improved, though I wont be getting any new colonies anytime soon.

The First Human-Houseplant War has Begun! After declaring war on them the Houseplants and their Bug allies decided to do me a favor and attempt to invade Earth.

It did not go quite as they had planned. Sensing defeat the Houseplants decided to salvage what was left of their fleet and retreat and the Bugs soon followed. The Houseplants then decided instead of retreating back to port the best course of action was to attempt to take Earth again this time alone!

After a predictable results its time to go on the offensive.

The Liberation of Horticultured under full bombardment. Plants cant feel pain right?

In the middle of my war the Fanatical Purifies (now to be known as the Parasites) decided to make it known how much they hate me.

I may have bombed a couple of your planets in the last war and set up a puppet republic at your expense but there's no need to be rude!

Battle over Caloctora Prima

NOOOOOO! Not the Thermopylae!

After a few more battles and occupations I managed to force the Houseplants to surrender and here is what the galaxy looks like now.

Still not the Big Kid on the block but I've bought Humanity some more breathing room. The goal is to vassalize the Allied Territories and then feed them the Houseplants other planets, just like with the Parasites. Tzynn also managed to finish their war with the Parasites and claim a few new planets but other then that not too much has changed.

Very interesting game report, pretty much like a small game blog - thank you. Unfortunately your thread title doesnt do it justice so you may not get all the readers possible.

Given that reports like this one sometimes make me think i myself play a game a lot less interesting, respectively I d rather follow some blogs than play Stellaris myself: Wouldnt it be a nice idea to have a blog section on the forums, where players willing to do so run a blog of their game(s). Since Stellaris due to the lenght of its games isnt the best stuff to watch in video, a blog section might catch a lot more attention then you would consider 1st thought. Anyone with me?

I might rename the thread, though I'm not very creative when coming up with names for things. Originally I wasn't planning to do anything but post a FML moment and I seriously considered scrapping the game altogether. However after posting I got a response and decided to run with it.

Have you tried reading the AAR forum? It seems pretty similar to what you are looking for. Anyway I like the Idea regardless, can never have too much community interaction.

Wow that's a bit spooky. The Tzynn Empire you have in your game also spawned in my last game, with the exact same color, species, symbol and ethos.

I'd load up and take a screenshot but they're uh... gone. Maybe some survivors escaped into interstellar space to go make a home in your galaxy?

I think the Tzynn are a Paradox Preset empire which is why they are identical.

Sadly the Tyznn will find no safe harbor here one day I will have to liberate their people to make the galaxy safe for democracy!
