Temporary title ruining save file

I have been playing as the Roman Empire in an ironman game, and have taken over a vast majority of Europe at this point. While I was consolidating Hispana, a revolt under one of my dukes broke out. Didn't impact me at all, but I saw it was going on. The leader of the revolt died, no harm no foul.

Only problem is, his "titles" passed to me. So I now have the leader of the revolt title. I'm not at war with anyone. I can't give out titles to anyone (which is a problem). I can't do basically anything while I have this title. I have tried destroying it, but it clearly says you cannot destroy temporary titles. This is either a bug or something I am very unequipped to figure out.

Any help greatly appreciated! I really don't want to lose this save file.

Hmm, that sounds like a serious bug. And you didn't "inherit" the conflict along with the title?

Would you be able to upload the save so that we can look at it?

I didn't inherit it, no. It was within the realm, so when the claimant died, I inherited the "title" but not the war against my own vasal. I'll give that a shot. Still trying to get used to Win 8, give me a moment to find everything.

I'm trying to upload the file, but it's telling me invalid file, any suggestions?

I have the save file, but the only place to attach anything looks like it is only recognizing picture or text docs? Is there another attachments part other than "attachments"?

Thank you to correct this, game is just unplayable if can inherit at any time a title that will ruin all your game...

Well, glad to know I'm not the only one out there. Hopefully someone will figure out a fix! Because damn that game was going well...

I have the same issue in a game with my Mongol Empire. My great Khan inherited a rebellion title and now he's stuck with the temporary title forever. Since it's ironman the game is ruined unless the bug is fixed.

The same thing just happened to me. I'd given my son a freshly conquered duchy, and the silly boy gave away then tried to revoke one of his counties. As I'm unable to directly help him, and given that his counties all still have the newly conquered troop penalties, he was losing, badly. So I plot killed the leaders of the revolt until I inherited the county, thinking I could just give it back to him. Now I cant give any land away and I have a pair of betrothals I can't say yes to. (the forbidding of betrothals does seem odd, I can't see why that would be denied even if the conflict was ongoing)
