Since capital buildings don't seem to change to their correct type anymore (when occupied by ME or changed to thrall/resort world, for instance), I decided to make a quick workaround until PDX fixes the problem. Do note that I really only made it for my own personal use, so I've only tested it on one thrall world thus far. Please tell me if it doesn't work for some specific conversion.

Adds a planetary decision which looks for the correct capital type and, if necessary, switches to it. Should be compatible with everything as far as I know, but do realize that I don't know everything.

Install by extracting to C:\Users\your_username_here\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod if you're on windows. If you're not on windows, extract to wherever your mods are.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, it should work just fine with existing saves.

EDIT 2: Another thing I forgot to mention is that it doesn't take population into account. It always selects the lowest level capital building above the colony ship shelter.

EDIT 3: Just found it messes up habitat capitals. Fixed that and started using version numbers. If gestalt empires have different habitat capitals, don't use this on those. It'll ruin them.

Sorry to say that your mod doesn't work in two instances I tried, the first was a brand new colony and the second was a conquered world with a planetary administration.

Both instances the capital building stayed firm and could not be upgraded or demolished.

What was the building(s) supposed to have been? Did anything happen when clicking the decision?

I think it should have become the Governor's palace. The decision is just not there, the upgrade arrow is not present. I tried resettling at least 10 slaves to the new thrall, but still blank as if the reassembled ship shelter isn't meant to be upgraded.

So it's thrall worlds? I used it to fix five of those just now, it definitely should work.
It's not an upgrade arrow, it's a planetary decision (like declare martial law or limit pop growth and all those). It should be there assuming you enabled the mod in the launcher.

AHHHHH I didn't realize it was a planetary decision, thanks for the help!
