So it is as i suspected.
Its possible change template of a division just deployed working division by division on their own templates, not on the general template in the division designer.
This one change only the template of divisions not yet deployed.

No, if you change the template in the division designer, it will start changing all of the divisions you have of that type as well as any you build in the future. You can't change the composition of an individual division unless you set up a new template and allocate the division to that type.

From what I have read and watched:

Lets say
"Rifle I" gives" 1 damage
"Rifle II" gives 2 damage
A battalion has 10 rifles.

Divisions with 6 battalions:

100% Rifle I = 60 damage
0% Rifle = 0 damage
50% Rifle I and Rifle II = 90 damage.
100% Rifle II = 120 damage

With 10 battallions:

100% Rifle I = 100 damage
0% Rifle = 0 damage
50% Rifle I and Rifle II = 150 damage
100% Rifle II = 200 damage

You can change the template a division is using. If you press the red circeled button you can choose another template for this division. The system will then put not anymore needed equipment back into your stockpile and tries to get any new needed equipment.
View attachment 146980

Edit: A copied template acts as a new seperate on. so any change in the original template is not copied

im more confused than before...
Than, what difference between change division template from the button @G-sus point (on a specific division) or change division template from division designer?
The result is the same? All divisions of that type will change....?

You can creaate a new template in the divison manger with the specs you want. Than you can go to the division and say it should take on this new template. After this it will give back not needed equipment and request the new equipment.

I hope this was clear. My English isn't really good.

thanks @Sun_Killer, now is clear....
in the division manager is possible create (or edit) new theoretical template, in the button above every division is possible adopt the new templates created.

If we have a mix of 50/50 and full equipment, yes just take the average.

But a Division with 6 battalions equiped with one rifle I ( 1 damage ) and one rifle II ( 2 damage ) has 3 damage. And not 1,5 damage.

u mean only 2 equipment unit of weapons for the whole battallion? would be in that case a total of 1+2=3
the average is 1,5 divided the total amount of weapon, practically as 2 unit of a weapon with 1,5 of damage.
3 is the total amount of damage 1,5 is the average of damage for every weapon unit.

yes 1,5 is the average. But what you are interested in is just the sum of all equipment. Making the average and multiplicating it with the total amount of equipment is unnecessary.
Imagine you have 17 different equipments and all in different numbers. Just make it easy and make a sum of the stats.

of course, in this sense...
i was only interested to know how mechanic of different weapons kind and amount work together
i think aniway there is more than 1 stat, soft attack, hard attack, piercing, breakthrough ecc ecc
as u say its the sum of all weapons for every stat

If I think about it, there are values who are different.
1) Speed. Probably fast as the slowest division
2) Armor. Highest value counts
3) piercing. Highest value counts

i only just barely realized like a week ago that in HOI3 a division fights as one entity with armor being the highest value, speed being the lowest, softness being an AVG, and attack/defense values being a total. this has had a major effect on how i play the game, and my ability on doing so. i hope the tutorial is clearer on this when HOI4 is released.

for vehicle unit of course but
infantry havent softness 100%?

armor and softness are separate values that do separate things. hardness/softness determines how effective hard/soft attacks are. 'armor' reduces damage dealt by 50% IF the enemy doesnt ahve the peircing stat to get through

armor counts as highest, hardness/softness counts as average

yes but an infantry weapons what hardness or armor have?

im not sure what youre asking but infantry weapons will be called infantry equipment, and wont have a hardness or armor value. i assume their attack and defense values will work like they have been discribed in this thread.

as for tank brigades having different levels for armor for the tanks they are comprised of, well, im not sure how that is going to work, and we are going to need a DEV response to know for sure. if i were going to guess id assume that you can set divisions as a priority for upgrades, and tanks fill in brigades as they are produced, IE instead of slowly replacing your old tanks across your entire army, tanks replace 1 brigade at a time, and if even 1 tank is of the wrong type, it goes by the weaker tanks armor. not realistic, but quite simple, and not that unrealistic, compared to other compromises

i think values which depand on mixed equipment will get an average. Maybe not speed, there it always is the slowest. Lets say medium tanks have the highest armor and piercing in the division, so the division will get average value of all medium tanks in the division as armor and piercing value. Should this value drop under, lets say the anti tank guns, they will take the piercing place.
This would be my solution.
