Hi guys,

looking the gameplay there are some aspects of game mechanic are still not totally clear for me,
how the template of a division already deployed work?

1) Changing the template in the division designer have effect also in all the divisions already deployed on the field or not?
Or is needed change template working in every division already deployed? o_O

2) How mixed equipment influence every battallion statistic? If a battallion is equipped 50% with old weapons and 50% with new one what statistic have in total? weighted average? Rest with he old wepons stat? Or get aniway the new weapon stat also if it not completely equipped by the battallion?

1. It will change all divisions, new and old, that has that specific template.

2. I'm pretty sure it will be an average.

I dont think it is average. Divisons with more battalions have higher stats as far as i have seen in the videos.

But the combat mechanics is still a little unclear to me.

He was asking about a mix of old and new equipment of the same sort, not mix of battalions.

I trust in you, but I was hoping for a confirmation from developers
In the gameplay i saw a template panel in every division deployed.
The doubt arose in me we were to change division by division individually.

Yeah the template view for each division is so that you can see the template that is chosen for it, and also change to another template.

I dont think it is average. Divisons with more battalions have higher stats as far as i have seen in the videos.

But the combat mechanics is still a little unclear to me.

Its still very unclear also for me. Of course more battallions together create a division, but the stat of the entire division if given by sum of every battallions.
So if a battallion (or in the same way the entire division) have mixed weapons, old one and new one, what stat it have?
This doubt arises from the fact that I saw in the gameplay of technologies, a generic bonus to battalion (and division too) when a new tech is researched.
An example; Weapon II = +8% soft attack for all land unit and motorized. This mean the bonus is obtained not by the production of new weapons but just from the new research status?
Its very unclear.... o_O

Every other unit in the game is tracked individually, tanks, planes, ships, so an hurricane have a stat and a spitfire another. In this case there isnt this problem. But land units have more weapons for every battallion, for example 1 inf battallion have 10 weapons I...or 10 weapons II, or 5 weapons I + 5 weapon II, than equipments could be mixed.

Weapon II only enables new equipment.
Maybe you men the research before that? (The rifle with the binocular and spade) Thats Improved Infanterie Equipment I and gives a bonus of +5% for all Inf.

Yep, i know. Weapon equipment comes in batches of 10 pieces as far as i remember. So the divison is a mix of Weapon I and Weapon II the total stat for the division will be the sum of weapon I stat and weapon II stat.
I really believe it is the sum and not an average.
From the 2nd DEV playthorugh video at time 02:19 when the german player adds to heavy tanks to his tank division template the hard attack stat goes up from 32.4 and with +14 point for each heavy tank battalion head adds and ends up with a total Hard attack of 60.4.

That stat is most likely based on your newest heavy tank design and will be scaled down if the division lacks tanks or the stat will change if it is filled with older equipment.
Again from what i can see in the video

My one concern with this feature is what if you dont want ALL of your divisions, you built with that template, to have the additions?

For example you have a handfull of divisions, in a particular sector, to have AA due to all the enemy air activity. These divisions are from a template that encompass 90% of your divisions. Now 90% of your divisions are scrambling to get AA suppport, which most likely will take a long time to fill due to production. Not to mention you fill up a slot that you did not want to with all of your divisions.

Copy the Template (That is free, so no XP lost). Add AA to this new Template and change the Template of the Divisions in the sector to the New (AA) one.

Yes u are right the tech show on screen it only enable new equipment "weapons II" but if u read inside weapons II equipments it have its own statistic. Obvious its different weapons I statistic in comparison to weapons II one. Than the concept its the same.

Yep, i know. Weapon equipment comes in batches of 10 pieces as far as i remember. So the divison is a mix of Weapon I and Weapon II the total stat for the division will be the sum of weapon I stat and weapon II stat.

Also you are right in this point of view, the total stat is a sum of all equipments.
But if inf battallion have as (for example) 5 weapons I + 5 weapons II, the result its the sum of every piece of weapons? So the result aniway its an average of 50% stat of weapons I and 50% stat of weapons II. A sum of 5 piece with a stat + 5 piece with another stat, divided the number of total 10 pieces, the entire battallion have an average statistic between the 2 equipments.
So every "piece" of weapons have their own stat and an inf battallion its a sum of 10 pieces of weapons? o_O

How would that work? The divisions were made under one template. Can you assign a template to divisions?

Hope I am explaining it correctly.

You make Template A for 90% of your divisions. Yout want to add a AA support company to only a handfull of division made from Template A. How do you go about adding the AA support company WITHOUT adding the AA support company to 90% of your divisions.

As far as I understand it. Each division is tied to the template it originates from. When you add/subtract battalion, it will do the same for ALL divisions originating from that template.

Copy the Template (That is free, so no XP lost). Add AA to this new Template and change the Template of the Divisions in the sector to the New (AA) one.

This post does not seem right. When you copy a template, then make modifications to it, those changes do or do not affect divisoins made from the original template? Only changes from the copied and modified template will only affect division made from the copy. UNLESS you specify the divisions in the sector to the new copied template. Never heard/read that option available.

You can change the template a division is using. If you press the red circeled button you can choose another template for this division. The system will then put not anymore needed equipment back into your stockpile and tries to get any new needed equipment.

So it is as i suspected.
Its possible change template of a division just deployed working division by division on their own templates, not on the general template in the division designer.
This one change only the template of divisions not yet deployed.
