I noticed that when my current ruler dies and my non-landed heir takes the reigns, my technology focus always reset back to the ´default´ top of every column: Bows, Farming, Noble customs.

This seems WAD as all characters start with the default top technology focuses and only develop their own focuses once they are landed and controlled by the AI, so if succeeded by a previously landed heir you will get their own technology focuses and if succeeded by a non-previously landed heir you will get their default top focuses. Arguably, one could prefer non-landed heirs to take over the previous ruler's focuses so I will pass this along internally as a suggestion.
