Honestly, I do love Generals, what's bad about it?

sorry for getting off topic...

Well, i've been playing cnc since the first one and loved red alert. However since westwood has been taking over by ea. they destroyed the cnc feel and put stupid crap in it. it's a discrace to the cnc genre.

Sorry, but I have to get one more OT comment in.

I loved RA2 and TibSun, but they had flaws like chucky cheeze story line and mediocre units. CnC Generals makes up for those flaws! The Generals units are so much better, the graphics are great, and the story line is average. Way better than the other Westwood CnC games, in my opinion.

Sorry for the OT :D

I plan on having each Major country have their own country-specific doctrines, like the China/DPRK Doc.s that Lunar came up with, and a bunch of Spec. Ops. and Blitzkreig-like doctrines to the U.S., peacekeeping doctrines to European countries, and Partisan Doctrines to rebel countries.

Sounds like a good idea?

Yeah, that would be good, too.

So, what kind of Country-Specific tech would CTF nations get, then?

And, we plan on having The Electronics/Computers tree being a different tree than the Sattellite/Space Tree, right? And, the Space tree replaces the nuclear tree? Just checknig.

Basically I was thinking the CTF would get the same tree as the US but with a few key techs removed that wouldn't be appropiate.

OK, that's good.

The CTF Wouldn't get any of the Blitzkrieg-Like techs, since the U.S. are the "new greats" at the Ultra-Fast Assault tactic.

So, What doctrines trees are we going to have?
Ground, Air, Sea Doc. Trees w/ country-specific techs?

And, it's pretty easy to disable a country from getting a tech or for a country to research a whole tree, just put a non-used Pre-Req ID or put the Tech's ID as it's Pre-Req.

Awsome, sounds great.

What do you think about gradually increasing the price of each tech the farther you go up the tree? This would make it more beneficial to make one's research path balanced.

Hmm, that's definitely a good idea for all trees except the Computer/Electronics tree (because the Elec Tree will be pre-reqs for a lot of other trees). I'm definitely going to implement this idea, thanks!
