I saw the released video and was thrilled with the possibilities and the changes made. My one point of contention is the ultra streamlined tech tree. I do think that it was a good idea to revisit the tech tree as I think it was a tad bit too complicated, but I think the tech tree previewed seems far too streamlined. I feel like it is more of a "get this tech to unlock this new unit" but seems to lack the specificity of the previous tech tree. It seems to close a great deal of options for the player. Now I only make this observation based solely on the video I saw so I can't be sure but I am somewhat alarmed that this may be the case. Is there any possibility that the tech tree can be modified by developers before release or modified by mods after release?

IIRC we were told that the number of techs were about the same as in HoI3. Anyway the tree is hiding a lot. Example: tank chassis have 4 subtechs (5 techs pr. tech show in the tree), in HoI3 these were shown directly in the tree. Variants (armor, engine, gun, reliability) was also shown in the tree in HoI3 these are still there but once again hidden from plain sight. And now tied to the tech chassis/model instead of the other way around.
