Hey guys. One thing I was wondering is how important is it to pay attention to tech? I always see that my so and so discovered this tech and in this province and I usually have my councilmen researching tech when there is nothing else pressing, but I really don't pay attention at all to what I research. Am I missing out on something? Once in a while I will go in an randomly pick different stuff, but since I still get updates that tech levels have gone up I don't really worry about it.

I always go for:
Military Organisation for the bigger levies
Legalism: for the reduced short reign penalty and the bigger demesne
switching between Castle inf, town inf and improved keep, when my capital goes up I switch, because other provinces will start catching up.
