I started a campaign in Ironman (no mods, achievements enabled). Now I plan to buy myself a new DLC. If I ran the game with this new one enabled, would that de-Ironman the campaign or make achievements impossible to get during it? I'm talking big DLCs, Cossacks to be exact.

If you add a DLC then achivements can no longer be earned.

Some achivements is easier to get if some DLCs are not part of the game from the start.

However you can finish your campaign anyway. Since you can start the game with that DLC deactivated in the launcher.

That's a shame, luckily I haven't gone too far with it. Thank you!
It is actually for the best.

Enabling/disabling DLCs mid-game caused bugs and eventually they got tired of users reporting bugs because of it -- apparently not all players were aware of the fact that enabling/disabling game mechanics nilly-willy can make the AI go "wha..." :/

Edit: To clarify, the above is only relevant to expansions. And enjoy the new expansion :)
