Shep U think this event is funny dont U?

Feb 1940...Hess jumps

boom 60 divisons go to pool and 20 fightersquads

France belgium and holland free? no way

to be honest if I didnt get rdy for norway at that time I woulndt have any troops to send quickly to reconquer...

well thats the first event that pissed me off

pls remove that stupid France is freed event..thx

edit:

ok after a few hours cooling down I look at it from a differant perspective. But I still belief this is a wargame and not a peacegame :D
Imagine U spent several hours planing and plotting to get belgium, Holland and France conquered and lose it in a blink of an eye.
2ndly if Germany doesnt hold Paris, Stalin wont offer a bitter peace, so the event is maybe fun in MP games (not) but in singleplayer stony raod ...omg...
I know Hess did what he did and the brits imprisoned him. If they didnt, what would have happen?
At least no instant peace, I dont think AH would have give up that easy.
Ok I know U didnt make all of those event, but U choose to put it in and I disagree. :D

btw, am I the only one posting here lately?

something like that :D

Isn't that how the peace command works? Any controlled provinces go back to their owner?

just incase sombody cares (it looks like ppl took off for eastern)

I changed build times for theories and it works out well.

I first increased all theories buildtimes to double time but changed cost to half. Well that put me in a game with haveing imp. Med tank 70Medium in '39, not to bad...

But then I had advanced tanks theory done while not finished building my Imp Hvy tanks. (80mm gun)
I thought about doubleing everything advanced again eg. Advanced Tanks, Advanced Warships etc and late war doctrines.
I upped them to 1080 days . that would be 3 years.
That would put Advanced tankts to around late 41-early 42 and that I think is more like it.
Dont forget the computertechs that decreases tech by a good deal, I mean 15% of from 3 years is like 4 month+

I did not change Attillery to double, only the first time (720 days a theory) to compensate the gun tech U had to wait for.
I had tankgun 80mm 3 or 4 month after I researched Imp hvy tank prototype.
So by the time U finaly get Adv. Tanks U should have tankgun 90 and soon TG 100mm.

Those changes also mean, if U get TG 70mm Long U have plenty of time to actual use it as a improvement and can upgrade the existing tanks long befor the next Type of tank is researched.
1. that is historical more acurate and
2. I think its more fun too :D

2 things I cant change

1. Gröfarz lvl only limited to manpower is to easy, at least befor SU declares war on me. By the time they do that I have 60 imp. Tac/Dive-bomber handy (120 menpower) and eliminate a 18 div army in about a week with them. (looseing about 10 menpower)

2. Japan has awful few troops...
in several games they had like 30-35 infantry and total of 58 +/- in 1940, even with techs I gave them to increase IC output.
I changed the AI a bit to build more Infatry but that didnt help either. What I noticed and cant change is , that Japan AI wont upgrade the ICs in IC1 provinces.

3 suggestion:
1. Move the new Infantry Divison Doctrine to the latest DOC Theory.

2. instead of haveing 3 Postwar Stratbomber, Longrange, Intercontinetal and supersonic, take one and make it a Tactical bomber e.g. Supersonic
..and while U at it, the best Nav bomber in game is still the Advanced, nothing beyond that. Maybe make the Supersonic bomber a Nav/Tactical bomber combo or make 2 out of that tech?

3. I would suggest to put in Improved medium tank as prereq. for Imp. Hvy and Advanced Medium for Adv. hvy to increase researchtime in applications.

ah 1 more thing...MBT, atm the Adv. Hvy tank 120mm T is way better then the MBT, maybe rethinking the stats would be in order. (not to speak of Postwar 120mm T)

ok so much from the homefront for now :D

BTW, I've become addicted to fallout 2 again, so don't expect
any sudden replies or bursts of modding like in the past for
about a week or so

Ah that explaines why I think i post here alone all the time lol
Hey its NO PROBLEM :D

edit: btw I try to finetune the supplys atm, so far it work out rather nice...
Even with the researchtime increase and not haveing Adv. Logistics to soon, all troops are more or less ok.
Worst I got atm is a Austrian Infantry with arty haveing 3.8 sup need.
In 1940 (with 1 increase of research) I got: 78/278/140/200 +/- with 136 divisons.
1 example I found to harsh was a AT gun with +0.4 for tanks/mech and +0.4 to AT, would put Mech+AT at a increase to 0.8 sup with only 1 gun.. reduced it to 0.1 each and reduced some bonuses on logistic techs.
as I said I still try to finetune, if I knew were U wanted it to be at last tech researched that would help me somewhat :)

ok back to my tanks ..cya

Beware the Tankette 70S, for it has sharp, SHARP TEETH!

I was playing Germany, and with the Vehicle Construction tech, the cost was listed at 1IC per tank! Worse, the actual cost was ZERO!!

I've noticed this effect with several German units... infantry engineers also cost one less than their listed price. Oddly, I was playing Japan today, and that was not the case for them.

I managed to restrain myself, and only built 30 of them. Then I proceded to utterly crush France in 1938... Although admittedly Metz and Colmar hung around until 1941 or so... I should have attacket them earlier, but I was too busy driving all the way to the Chinese boarder...

its called Minister bonus (armored spearhead) reduction by 10% for eng/tanks

So if U build a Tank div +E U save 2 IC cost and some reduction in buildtime I think.

Btw there is a Minster and Leader thread where U can read what every skill does.
Or click on the Big Flagg in the middle ingame to see what ministers U have and what bonuses they give U.

This is the same with escort destroyers. I played the UK, had an "Open Seas Doctrine" naval minister, as well as naval assembly tech --> ZERO cost destroyers, i.e. an almost infinite pool of destroyers, convoy escorts etc. :p

Shep, you really need to tone this down a bit, or people like me will exploit this every game :D

Ok, I've recalculated the tank defense and IC costs:

A basic Panzer III division will cost about the same as
a battleship

12 IC for a Panzer III, compared to 15 for a Bismarck BB.

I'm rejiggering the IC costs again, to make it apparent that
this isn't just 300 tanks you're buying, but a fully mechanzied
panzer division, with some 1,000+ vehicles per division.

Also, the armor stats have been revised downwards by 25%,
in response to your comments (Panthers were 20 defense in
old TM, they will be 16 defense in the first non-beta of TM5)

Fixing the Escort CV bug and the Escort DD bug, and several
minor buggs

The SR difficulty levels with TM installed:

I've been using my own integrated TM/Stony Road mod to test
out alternatives to Nighty's insane fortress building (no offense,
nighty), while still keeping the difficulty level hard...

I think I may have achieved this in my latest version,
by reducing the manpower values of the major combatants' provinces to zero, and making them dependent on yearly
drafts to fill in the manpower gap...

A miscalculated offensive might cost you your entire years'
worth of recruits in order to replenish your losses now :p

France's yearly intake of recruits is also half that of Germanys,
so she will now be dependent on having allies to help soak
up some of that excess german manpower...

And the USA will no longer have 70 division armies by 1940 :p
