games starts in 1991 morme, US would be in the upper teens around 2003 if it started at 11LT. Anyway, 12 is a good number, and America should start out around 3 to give a good edge over the undeveloped countries. CTR should be pritty good. Possibly we should move the scale to this.

LT0 - World War 2
LT1 - Cold War
LT11 - Post Cold War
LT20 - Metalstorm

This would give the developing countries some disadvantage and reasons to squabble with eachother as they try to rise into better nations. This also gives room so if we decided later to expand upon the timeline by going backward to the beginning of the Cold War Era we can without having to disrupt all the delicate balances we had already made in the Tech system.

LT 12 gives you the gun

If USA is going to have 3/4 of the LT12, they have to have LT11. Usa can't start with LT 11. That was my point.:)
Yeah, I didn't think it through.

As to Kyran's, the USA would have to go through 9 techs in about 13 years, meanign a little over a tech a year to be historical. Kind of fast, isn't it?

Kyran's list looks good. However, I agree that we should lower 11 and 12 a little. Those was only a wild guess from my side.

Metalstorm?

Also, we will need names for the epochs. "Late Medieval" and such doesn't really fit in any longer. I suppose we'll start in the Atomic Age, right? I Cold-War age isn't really a epoch name... What/When shall the next be?

Also, I guess we'll start with "Atomic Age", and then "Late Atomic Age"?

I don't get 'atomic age' I mean the atomic age will never end, we're not going to suddenly forgot how to use atom bombs. The only way it'll kinda end is we run out of uranium and can't get any more though the governments will still have their stores in their bombs...

It's mainly called the Atomic Age because we're still affected by the bomb. Sooner or later, we'll find a better name...

Calling the starting age "Cold War age" is like calling the starting age in EU "Hundred-years war age" or something...

Thats what I mean.
We'll still be affected by the bomb for some time yet.

I don't thin that every nation should start at land tech 1 or 0. The US sould start around 12-ish with their NATO partners 1, maybe 2 at the most, levels behind. USSR and ex soviet block starts at 7 or 8, Arab nations around 6 or so. Others can be set depending on their situation. ie.e Japan about 10, China around 2 etc.

It depends. If Bush's missile-to-missile shield works, then the atomic age will most likely be over for the USA, and it will go back to basically convential force.

Of course, that may not be for another 4, 5, 6, years before we even find out, and even then, if it dosen't work, future Presidents may carry it out. However, there Have been some sucessful tests, meaning that if we could get this thing made en masse, its not as far off as it may seem.

Yeah... but I've heard that there's some treaty that says that no one shall set up such a shield (a nuclear shield I think, satelites), because it threatens other nations.

That would need an event for the US, in other words.

Ok. Might make a small event out of it anyway:D (where taking it back should be A) Of course, if anyone wants to do it.:) It's not a major...

bipedal mechs are inefficent, planes are better flying, tanks are better on the ground, and boats/subs are better in the sea. The wheel or tracks is far more efficent than two or even four feet
