Is there a tech tree for this game so I can see what techs are needed to get access to other techs and improvements?

When I went to the tech screen I got to choose between 5 techs to reseach, one from each main field. Going in to look at the tech from a field revealed there was several "branches"within each tech. In one of the techs I wanted to reseach step one of railroads, but instead I had to research step two of coal or something instead. Is it possible to choose wich tech in a branch you want to research first assuming you don't lack any prerequisite?

Is there a goods tree that says what each material will be needed for? With so many goods and so long and complex chains it will take a long time to learn the chains and what all goods are used for.

I found out clercks improve production more than craftsman in my factories, but how much more? Is there any way to find out?

Compared to an equivalent Craftsmen POP, Clerks have a 50% bonus. The formula given by the vicky wiki is :

Craftsmen efficiency = 50% + (literacy/2).
Clerk efficiency = 100% + (literacy/2).

You cannot decide what technology will be available next in the research screen, it is chosen randomly. All you can do is change the Intellectual Establishment, hoping for the wanted tech to show up, but this is costly in prestige (-10prest. each time you click on the button).

This was made for Victoria 1.01, but it looks to be largely valid for Revolutions as well:
