In the original HoI, there was an event (1021, I believe) that was an accidental discovery of a tech. HoI2 has the same event, but it only gives you the blueprint, not the tech itself. Actually, it seems that none of the events give you the tech. For cheaters like myself, this simply won't do!
Is there a cheat/event I am unaware of? I tried editing the event file to match exactly the event from HoI (which consisted of changing a -2 to a -1
, but that had no effect. Does anybody know of another way to unethically get tech advances.
And before I get preached to on cheating, there is a very fun and legitimate use for them: altering the balance of power. It seems that many of my games tend to play out the same way outside of Europe, so in HoI I would choose to play as some more minor nation (say, Nepal), give them a bunch of techs, play as another nation, then see how the game plays out. It's worth a try when you're bored.
Thank you for reading my post (if you made it this far).
