Obviously it's a fantasy steampunk GSG in Victorian period. You did not think they'd announce any regular fantasy game the same day with Triumph.
I really want Rome II in one shap or form but if I get a fantasy game I'l willing to try it out as well. So right now I'm trying to cool down my personal hype and so take the final annoucement with a cool head.
And if it is Rome II, then we'll part like its year 1 BC.

I’m utterly stuck. The hints sort of lean towards Rome but not completely.
The bard is Shakespeare’s nickname, as the greatest storyteller in the English language. “Et tu brute” is a line from one of his most popular plays, but he told tales of other times, other places, not just Rome. Some stories run smack into pre CK2 post Rome time frame. Some are completely fictional.
Did any play from the bard talk a day yet to come, then vicky3 might still be on the table...

Either way, a story will be told tomorrow of a game yet to come. As long as the game is good, all will be well.

Well, that kills it. Their hints never went as far as some speculations. To me, there can be no Homer or Shakespeare to save antiquity. The bard is a standard fantasy trope. After the "spell"ing hint and the no (physical) Norway, I strongly think it will be a fantasy game. It's Johan's dream, after all. He failed a few years ago, and it must have been terrible for him. Now he is back, with refined ideas and a good team.
At least, all those hints made them aware, if they weren't already, that their fans are screaming for two sequels. Let's now hope to have Vicky 3 AND Rome 2 next year!
