what do good produced and minorities have to do with fantasy???? what is this trolling???? i don't understand
Minorities is the most puzzling one for me. As for the "trolling", that's the entire point of these teasers, ie to get our interest piqued enough and to generate discussion.

What I thought of first was the Celtic people who had bards and were very wide-spread in Antiquity. But also Homeros who wrote the masterpieces of the Iliad and Odyssey.

Watch out, a Hellenistic phalanx is soon coming to a computer near you!

Ok, get this: Trailer starts, bard starts narrating the history of his people; just chiefs, brave warriors, proud women, honorable ancestors. Then the narration turns darker: enemies destroying settlements, capturing children, indiscriminate slaughter. And then the sound of wood cracking; voices are heard, screaming. The bard stops his tale abruptly and the camera pans to the man standing above him: a Roman legionnaire, bloody gladius in hand. Dramatic music plays and the Rome II logo appears.

A man can dream.

Okay, so time of the bard implies storytelling. The "Storyteller system" is a role-playing game system designed by White Wolf Publishing for their older "World of Darkness" games which was purchased by Paradox Interactive. Many of these game settings are set in a somewhat historical fantasy Dark Ages setting.

Conclusion: We are finally getting a Dark Ages game boys!!!!

Probably a mix of CK with character and strategy elements in a role playing setting but with rulers and dynasties and stuff.

The only game that I am not at all looking forward to is a fantasy game, we already have Stellaris and that is enough fantasy right there with dragons in space and whatnot. The last historical game from PDS was HoI4 in 2016 but that covers only small part of history so the last truly history based game was EU4, released in 2013, almost 5(!) years ago. Where is Rome 2 and where is Victoria 3 or will they do CK3, EU5, Stellaris 2 and HoI5 before we hear anything about Rome 2 or Victoria 3?

Hmmm, kinda would have hoped for a better quote and most importantly that would lay to test my nagging uncertainty that it might still not be a Rome game.

That being said it's still wide open I guess.

If it's not Rome is basically the biggest trollin of the century

Well, I hope for the exact opposite tbh. I'm not really in the the "real" settings like in CK, EU or HoI and I really like Stellaris a lot. So I'm hoping for a Fantasy, Cyberpunk or Postapocalypse style game...but I think It'll be some sort of hostric game. :)

At least you'll have the Luxury of knowing that you'll save your money before its even released.

Took till Stellaris "2.0" to realize that i'd wasted mine on that game.
I would probably feel the same way, but Star Trek New Horizons mod is so great that it was still worth it to buy Stellaris.
