They could announce Victoria this year and release it next year for the 200year birthday.
That's what I wanted to say, Vic3 could be released a year after the announcement.
They have said they will announce games when they are close to release to avoid what happened with HOI4.
if paradox mods such as imperium universalis can make maps from morroco to china and from 550 BC to to the fall of the empire then why paradox cant ?If it's a game about Rome, I hope it will cover the empire until it falls, not just the republic. I would love to see a game with mechanisms representing the fall of the Western empire and the Empire is not so much represented in video games. Otherwise, in a corner of my head I'm still hoping for a game about East Asia and the Chinese Empire but it seems unlikely
if paradox dont give us full contents of antiquity then know that it will be coming as DLCs for sure . in imperium universalis the warring states period and the three kingdoms china are all in the game .

hoi4 was released about 30 months after release - so a year would be a huge improvement
It what was exactly what they wanted to do but a year is a long time and at some Point they found out that the released had to be delayed.
Anyways if we have a roman era or bronze age game then at least have a realistic map. Like this:

30 months ? i think hoi4 was announced with stellaris on gamescon 2015 and both was released on Q2 2016 .
you are maybe talking about cold war . that game was delayed for 2 years and then cancelled and since then they announced that they will never announce a game until they make sure it can be released in less than a year .
Stellaris was annouced later than HOI4 but was still released one month Before HOI4.
i just checked paradox channel and i saw both teasers released on same event "gamescon 2015" but idk who was announced on the forum first . i think stellaris was more secret than hoi4 and this is why they was very late to show us gameplay .while world at war wednesday showing the hoi4 gamplay started like a month earlier .
I would assume Paradox will try to make a announcment 6~12 Months prior to release. Not shorter than that, but also not longer. And 6 Months from now would be already December.
i think it is not a rome nor vic game. it will be a fantasy game, i seriously think it will be, but i hope its not.
Maybe they target 3 month or so. The longer to the release date the worse the risk for delays.
