Saar offensive
Immediately after declaration of war upon warmongering Germany French tanks immediately begun assault on Siegfried line. If it will be breached there are 45 divisions waiting to exploit the breach. The line is however well defended and fortified.
Karlsruhe is yet another vector of attack. Simultaneously with attacks on Siegfried line smetson started few invasion in the north Germany at Hamburg, Emden and Wilhelmshaven.
Unfortunately for some reason smetson was unable to take screenshots this session so I will be only source to inform you about our success/failure (unless he decides to do text only update).
What surprised me was immediate presence of Italian aircraft.
This is what you get when you try to attack Maginot line. If the Saar offensive is determined to fail the Maginot line will hold and protect French nation from German threat.
Bombing runs against important German industry areas were initiated to hamper German war machine. Maybe the damage from bombing is not significant but it's morale boost for French army and hopefully it will damage Germans will to fight.
While majority of French army is trying to break the Siegfried line things in Africa are different, we are winning battles there. Italians are being pushed by French from the Tunis and British army is also making gains.
Shortly after war has begun French navy has run into into some minor engagements with Regia Marina which led to 2 Italian destroyers being sunk.
Breakthrough has been achieved and battle for Pirmasens has been won, however German reinforcements arrived earlier than French tanks so 2nd battle had to take place there. There are another bad news - rapid deployment of units near Siegfried line is visible and even Italians are coming to reinforce it.
Regia Marina has lost one of its battleships.
Another breakthrough attempts were unsuccessful as Siegfried line was reinforced before we could win the battles. Province of Pirmasens is now the only place where we can hope for the breakthrough.
Also the British attempt to land in north Germany proved unsuccessful.
2nd battle for Pirmasens was won, however as you can see, there are at least two additional divisions moving there.
While Saar offensive turned into World war one carnage progress in Africa is visible and Italians will be soon expelled from there.
As more German forces arrived into Pirmasens Siegfried line turned into impenetrable line so we've decided to reconsider our plans and to clear the Mediterranean from Axis presence.
Situation in Soviet union looks grim. Germans are the gates of the Moscow and Leningrad. Stalingrad, 3rd most important Soviet city, is not safe either as Germans are only few provinces from it.
Hopefully our declaration of war upon Germany will force Axis to deploy some units, which could be used in the east, near our border and therefore slow their advance.
One infantry corps arrived in Palermo and they are ready to begin to march towards Rome. It has been decided that Italy is our main target for the time being. Maybe we will even force Germany to send some their units needed in the Eastern front to Italy.
