not only does it need a dread to carry it and cost more.

because half of its turrets are point back/sides and cant shoot forward

so what is the point...

it gets build 3 times faster tho, but cost almost two times more ( no advantage their either, considering you are wasting a dreadnaught)

maybe i am missing something  ?

Perhaps they've screwed up the firing arcs?

Sots 1's Tark Battleriders had 90% forward firing guns, were cheap, had more guns than a std CR, and basically kicked ass. :)

they had more guns than some DNs. and that ridiculous turning rate on the Hunter-A.

Note the BR's are broadside heavy.
Note your capital ships point most of the guns to the front.

Ever seen the film Zulu? Tarka are the Zulu ;)

i have no idea what you talking about?

broadside heavy? you do know that like 1/3 of the guns are only forward firing on it and another 1/3 can fire only front or to 1 side

broadside means firing to the side, ie, not forwards, so the second part of that sentence is in support of his statement.

also, if 2/3 of its turrets can fire forwards, what the heck are you complaining about?

Cruiser: almost everything can shoot forward (exept 2medium)(that what this race all about)
BC: 2xHeavy rear cant rotate 360*, same with 2x medium in the middel

so cruiser can concentrate firepower on 1 target

battle cruiser is all over the place and it cant even travel alone and have only minor increase in firepower in total

no kidding captain and im telling you you lose most of the firepower by broadsiding with it

you also told me that 2/3s of its guns can fire to the front. this directly contradicts your first post and removes the entire problem you're complaining about.

I'm a bit confused. First you said half the turrets can't shoot forwards, then you said 1/3 can shoot forward only, another third can shoot forward and to one side only, meaning that full 2/3 can shoot forward.

How about some precise numbers or maybe a picture so we can figure out what the CBs are meant to do?

If the Tarkan BCs have guns pointing in all directions, they are either meant to be kept moving through the enemy's formation, shooting at different targets and turning about in order to bring as many guns as possible to bear, or they could be used in a more supportive role, fending off smaller threats like drones and missiles.

This is off the top of my head, though, as I haven't yet used Tarkan BCs.

Edit: Oh, there's the picture. [Forget what was here, it only loaded the normal cruiser for me, so I didn't stop to consider that BCs only have one section. Need more sleep!]

yeah, i was gonna say; why does everybody always consider ships from one arc, like they never move or turn?

Yeah I dont see the problem in it. Bitch about it not shooting all forwards if you want, thats still a nasty damn weapon hardpoint load. And besides, your compareing it to a War section anyway which is DESIGNED to be a super heavy hitter because of the Zuul, something you may not even get if your not fighting the Zuul. Mayby a lil less complaining about design and a little more thinking on tactical phase strategy eh?

omg, why are people here so slow?

What is it that you dont see? fact is that you need Dread in order to support the ships that should have more firepower than normal cruiser, but they dont in practice, therefor researching and building them makes no sense at all?

i gues you right, no problem at all

do you know what "twat" means, right?

Now, now, no need to get nasty.

Here's a (repeated) thought: What if the BCs aren't meant to be just the same as the rest of the ships of the race? Maybe they are supposed to complement them in some way by, say, moving through enemy formations, shooting in all directions, turning to bring more guns to bear - or maybe as a support unit to protect other ships from smaller threats?

Eh to each their own, no need to get so butthurt about it. Each race is different dont forget. Your talking about one species Battlecruiser type. I for one, see the potential in the tarkan battlecruiser. To me, it seems as a point for them to have ships that can engage in a field of arcs, rather than their traditional cruisers in game now that have most of the firepower fireing forward, this would also come into play with how Battleriders and such are designed in this era, to be picket line ships, to provide that extra force application for the bigger ships around it and defend them in turn as well. Makes sense to me. If they were ment to be forward shooting ultra killer ships, then we'd just have the Battlerider Carriers and the various Battleriders themselves, who'd need normal ships anymore eh? =\
