I'm reading the description of Vicky, and looking at the screenshots,
I am very pleased at what I'm seeing, and I might make a TankMod
for Victoria (albeit one very compressed) so we can fight WWII
with a Rumanian state that isn't as weak as it was in our timeline.

I played HoI hard, and then I realized that there were flaws in the
game that limited how far it could be realistic, and it looks to me
that they're moving away from the simplistic setup of HOI to the
more complex EUII style of play, whcih leaves me all agog with
delight!

Basically, I'm envisioning right now, a bunch of tanks units that
go like:

Great War Tanks (self explanatory)
Inter War Tanks (All the various oddball jobs)
Early War Tanks (Panzer IIs, Crusaders, BT-7s)
Mid-War Tanks (Shermans, Panzer IVs, T-34s)
Late-War Tanks (King Tiger, IS-3, M-26 Pershing)
Post War tanks (T-55 and M-48)

EU2 had province buildings and such, HOI had the
"universal resource allocation slider" that allowed you to
shift all your resources from researching away like crazy
to building a dozen tank divisions, and then back to research
with no lag time at all, leading to unrealistic stuff as Germany
producing dozens of Panzer Divisions in HOI, when in reality
all she ever built were about a dozen or so full size divisions
over the course of the war, most of her resources going to
simply keeping the existing panzer divisions stocked with tanks
to replace war losses.

World War II was not simply a straight up bang bang bang
war, it was also an economic war behind the scenes over who
could produce the most machines, airplanes, tanks, ships, etc.

why not first play the game and then look for mods?:D

Who'll be making the Unlimited Time mod? That's the first step for all this.

But I think the game's period is far more interesting then HOI's anyway.

And Vicky will fix a lot of problems with HOI.

In HOI, the Germans never really run out of manpower, and
all their manpower from the annexed provinces is assumed
to be the same quality wise as those from Germany itself.

With Vicky's troop nationality, we can now represent the classic
divisions of the German Army and Waffen-SS which were
majority German, along with the much weaker, "ethnic
German" divisions raised that were not worth anything at all.

So Germany can conquer a massive empire, but good luck in
garrisoning it and retaining the quality of your army. :D

Yeah it's plain to see that Vicky has the makings of a great HoI+, the map looks great, there's tremendous depth in the economic and political systems, units have more depth and experience seems to be modeled, and it doesn't seem to be loosing anything on the number of techs.

Thou it looks like the HoI gold type techs are the only ones you can choose to research in Vicky, while the application techs come from inventions, which sound sort of event based.

I like the idea of having a lot fewer different TYPES of units while making those units that do exist more unique (experience, morale, etc). I think it's a good idea--what was the point of marines, mountaineers in HOI? I got tired of juggling them around and would have preferred a more detailed generic "infantry" model.
