Tank sprite ?

Hi, I was playing with Romania the 1936 scenario;

Sometimes in 1941 I upgraded the core tank division to a medium tank; from that moment on the sprite representing the division turned into Infantry.

Same happened when I created 2 more Medium tank divisions: they were represented as infantry sprites.

Anyone tell me how to change this please? So I can see tanks instead of inf?

The easy fix is to just download GIP or DMP sprite pack

Or you can just edit your own files:

C:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Doomsday\db\

country.csv - This will tell you what sprite group ROM is using

Then switch over to:
C:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Doomsday\gfx\map\units\

Here you want to look for a T-Panzer*.spr for ROM or whatever sprite the country.csv is pointing to.

You will have to change every single one that has T-Panzer*ROM.* in it.
There will be about 3 groups of 8 files for Walk, Fire, and Stand

The bitmaps are located one more directory down
C:\Program Files\Paradox Interactive\Doomsday\gfx\map\units\bmp\
---

I remember having this problem with ROM myself some years ago, but I can no longer remember what exactly the fix is. Since then I have modded HOI2 so much that I cannot figure what I changed and what was part of the default install.

BUT you can fix it. You just have to edit the SPR files to point to a .bmp that you want to use.

You do not need to register your HOI2 game to see the HOI2 tech support forum..
