Hi!

I have started playing this game as the leader over Connacht in Ireland. I was the duke over Duchy of Connacht. I got a "de jure" claim on Breifne becasue I was the duke and I attacked it with my force. After some wait when I sieged I got 100% warscorce and I decided to make peace with him and I should be his leader. I got the County of Breifne but not the castle so I can get more troops and taxincome from the castle.

So my question is: How can I get the leadership over the Couny (the castle) without revoke the title of my vassal? (I don't know if it possible but..)

Maybe have many people asking this but I did not find something about it on the first 3 pages.

I hope you can help me :)

Okey, but is it a other way to go to war when you get the county after the peace or somehow make a diffrent peace so you get it?
You pressed a de Jure claim. That means you said "since your county is normally part of my duchy, you are my vassal". You won the war, and got what you asked for (his vassalage)
To get the castle for yourself at the end of the war, you need to press a personal claim on his title. That way, you don't say "I am your lord", you say "Your lands are mine". That claim can be either legitimate (for example you marry a claimant, and your heir will have a claim on the domain) or forged (by your chancellor)

Imprison and banish him. In addition to his castle, you'll also get all his gold. In large realms this is a suicide - everyone will hate you, they will revolt and either re[place you or separate. Buy if you're small, you can imprison and banish everyone you don't like.

I took him as a imprison and banish him and that worked very well.

Thx for all the help and I think I understand this much more then before :)

Just one thing: When I took over it it says "Title loss on succesion" what means with that, I did not understand,

It means that when you die, someone else will get that county.

I'm going to guess that you have a gavelkind succession, yeah? That means that each of your kids gets a pieces of the land you hold when you die. Since you can only play one character at a time, you're pretty much losing that land until you retake it. Switch to another kind of succession, and your heir will get all of it.

New question: I used one of the claims a courtier in my court had. He got the land after the victory as it says but I did not get him as a vassal. Why did I not get him as a vassal?

When you press a claim for someone else, he becomes your vassal if (a) he was already your vassal, or (b) he's part of your dynasty. Otherwise, you're just being a nice guy and helping a stranger out. If you read the tooltip when you declare war, it explains this.

What most people do is invite the claimant to your court and gift him a county. Now he's you vassal. Then press his claim. He stays your vassal, now with an extra county. Then revoke the titles you just gave him. Now you get everything for yourself.

Also good to know -- if you press a claim for someone that's equal to or higher to your title, he goes independent. A duke can't be vassal to another duke, and a king certainly can't be. So don't try this trick on a title that's as high as yours or you're just giving a county away to someone who will become an independent rival.

I did like you said but when I should take his titles he revolted against me and made a new independent state of the two counties he had. Did I something wrong or is it like normal?
