Hi there.

Just wondering if their is any long lasting negatives to taking the popes lands? I am a vassal of his but i am angling to take everything from him. Should i give him a bishopric in rome so he dosent ask for Rome back? What will happen if i depose liege as one of his vassals? Is it worth it? Thanks for any replies.

No long lasting negative modifiers. The usual usurpation of title and title claimant modifiers apply in this case as with all other scenarios not involving the Pope. As far as I know there's no particular attachment to Rome of the Pope in this game - you won't get any additional relationship points by giving him the bishopric of Rome other than the usual +25 granted barony modifier.

If you depose him a new bishop will take the Papacy. I'm not sure if you get bonus relationship points with the new Pope though.

With Rome as the reason, or for other, unrelated reasons?

I'm guessing it was Rome because I didn't really do anything much besides uniting Italy and Sicily. I didn't execute prisoners, murder anyone or look at anyone the wrong way. Maybe they all kept the claim to Rome and always had the Furious modifier on them.

Might be, but easy to check, no? It might also be that you had consistently clashing traits.
