I'm interested as playing either Romania or Nat. Spain. No previous HOI2 multiplayer experience, and currently my game crashes when I click `Valkyrienet,` so I have to IP in. I may reformat my HDD today and fix that.
I have 128 or 256 kbps, I can't remember. It gets capped to 64 kbps towards the end of the month when the data cap is used(new month but still seems very slow?) From New Zealand.

oowie....Can you give some more info about your internet connection? Upload and download capacity?

Things are going well..looks like 9-10 players. Just waiting on some country selections so I can try and set up a nice balanced game trying to get everyone their 1st or 2nd preference. I will try and email everyone before tonights game at 7pm.
Reinstalled Windows, yet to see if I can connect to Valkyrienet - need to install drivers.
Regarding my internet connection: It's some crappy NZ broadband, either 128/128 or 256/128, but when I use the 10 gig international data cap it gets slowed down to 64 kbps, it seems to still be at 64 despite the time of month.

Yo u may have too look into that mate...If its 64k it will be no good at all for a MP game.
We have found through many trials and errors that 1500/128 is the minium really, the lowest you could go for hoi 2 would be 512/128. But with 9-10 people playing you need faster. 64 upload will not cut it and cause lots of lag for everyone. You will have to arrange it so your connection is faster with less download or find a better provider. Ask a few kiwi guys on the forum for good ISP's.
It slows the information from the host PC to your own which in turn slows everyone elses reception to keep the game at the same speed. You would find that you would reguarly be days sometimes weeks behind everyone else. In battles it not much good turning up 2 weeks late when your connection finally catches up. Yo uwould give orders to troops or try to change sliders and nothing will happen for days then all of a sudden something you clicked on days before suddenly happens.

Ok Ric no worries..as its a new game it will probably take an hour to get thru the first month. I will check on MSN on my other PC when you turn up ok?
Sorry oowei but its a simple fact of the amount of data send between the host and the players. We couldnt even play small 4 players games with a host of 1500/128 i had to upgrade my connection to 1500/256 just so we could play. We have had a number of players on 64 upload connections and it simple does not work and the game can only go as fast the slowest person. Nearly everyone in this group has had to upgrade connections just to play. So no hard feeling but were not going to waste hours messing around with slower connections. Try and get yourself up to a 512/128 connection or faster, and then no worries player.
