I'm Playing FTM mod DI:G (obviously as Germany) and i'm in the middle of Barbarossa. It's January 1942, I have reached Moscow and Leningrad and I've taken Murmansk and Sevastopol. I have Leningrad surrounded on 2 out of 3 sides, and have 2 out of 4 sides taken around Moscow. I'm making the push to surround both cities and should do it soon My question is what is the best way to take Moscow and Leningrad? In previous games it would take months of sieging before I was able to even get above "10" on the attack meter when attacking Moscow from all sides with 20+ divisions. For this game I'm planning on bombing supply dumps during the siege to hopefully lower the defenders organization enough to finally take the cities. Is that a good plan or is there any other ways to take the cities?

For Leningrad you can try to cut all supplylines and hold that encirclement for a few weeks. The Soviet divisions should run out of supply, making the attack a lot easier. Combined with constant air raids of course, and then finally send the infantry in once the Soveits have had time to eat all their rations.

That trick won't work on Moscow beause it's the capital. Still, surround it on all sides with lots of infantry, then attack from all directions.

Remember in both cases not to overstack your troops attacking the city. Send in no more than 3 or 4 divisions per province depending on composition and attack from as many directions at once as possible. Eventually you should wear them down.

Surround Leningrad entirely and let it go out of supplies OR attack it immediately from all five sides. Frontage goes up to 30. Do this with 15 divisions consisting of INF INF ART ART ART/ AT (depends on if there are tanks) or 30 divisions of INF ART ART ART ART/AT. Good game. Same goes for Moscow. Also surround it, attack it from five sides. Again with 15 or 30 divisions like I mentioned above. Wait a minute and Moscow is yours. Just make sure you attack at the same time from all sides.

Speed up the proces with tactical bombers doing ground attack and provide shore bombardement near Leningrad.
