Okay, so I'm working on Australia and have hit a snag with gfx...

Paintings vs photoes

Should I use colour pictures when the event image is a painting, or should I keep them black and white like all events photoes?

To sum up, should paintings be in colour, and keep photoes black and white? Or should ALL events images be black and white?

I normally like pintings,but for DH the most appropriated is black and white photos

Keep the photos black and white because that is the way they were during that time period. Paintings could go either way but I prefer colour because if it came in colour then I just expect it to be in colour.

You could have it black and white at first, but then have it change with the era that the story is in.
Also you could have paintings in color or black and white, depending on whether or not you want your event to look like a newspaper or just a message.

For the events related to this man, I'm sticking to the photograph but the painting is what concerns me. I don't want to strip the colour.

I think you've just answered your question, Aussie. Catering to your audience is fine, but how will you feel if what you put out there isn't satisfying to you?

Sometimes mass appeal, I was on the fence but seems the majority is leaning to colour.
