1. Need to zoom to Tactical Level when engaging in battle, or via mutual agreement of human players, allow computer to resolve.(See Ancient Art Of War, KHAN, ) Romance Of The Three Kingdoms, and many other Asian titles. Also Shogun: Total War is interesting....

You must check out Genghis Khan.
2. Need to have characters, Royal Family, Heirs, Brothers, advisors, with stats that go up in experience, get wounded and disabled, and age.
3. Provinces should produce specific military units.
4. Espionage ?
5. Each province should have a linguistics orientation that effects colonization (Within Developed Areas) See "Empires of The Middle Ages".

6. Look at Civ II

Best feature of this game is that it operates entirely differently from the cutesy way CIV, and all others attempt to approach Historical Simulation, it feels inherently less ridiculous to play this game as a grown man, because it focuses on the historical and economic issues. Do not lose this quality, through the cutesy way all other games handle it.

7.Obviously want the 350 B.C. -1419 part, and I personally am interested in from 1492 B.C. to 500 B.C.

:) Psycho's ultimate game ... EU2 meets Shogun !

Problem is it would take 10 years to produce, take 5 CD's to run ... and put alot of needed competition out of business ! :)

Hail Paradox !

1. Ain't going to happen. Misses the point of why EU is good and would take the emphasis and design away from what EU is about. Yeah, Shogun is fun but its got nothing to do with reality. EU needs to focus on greater depth in political/ diplomatic/ domestic models ( which the team is now working on!)
2. Good idea
3. No, again this a grand strategic game that attempts to reflect history unlike Imperialism and CIV. You are missing the point of EU.
4. Yep, I'd like to encourage rebellions and regions to seceed from their countries.
5. Don't know what you are talking about here can you explain?

Re: Re: Tactical Map

I think having a tactical level would detract from the strategic parts of the game. As aggravating as it is to have your 15k infantry, 5k cavalry and 20 cannon defeated by 7k French infantry attacking across a river, well, shit happens. Additionally, there is enough management in this game without having to micro-manage the battles as well.

That having been said, there is a definite need for some company to make a medieval/renaissance tactical war game. But Paradox should concentrate on strategy.
