You'll be able to run it, but your processor is very very bad. If you want a cheap upgrade to be able to run HoI3, just tell us your motherboard model. :)

How serious is the processor requirement?
I have an AMD 3500+ with 2 gigs of ram and a Geforce 9600GT 512 MB. I can run games like Fallout 3 on high settings without any problems so I would assume HOI 3 will not be a problem either?

Also will the demo give the proper representation if you can only play for 4 months? I heard that it probably puts more strain on your CPU as you advance further in the game.

ATM, the code needs serious fixes and optimizations, 'cause now even people with I7's have complaints. A 3500+ is kinda slow though, and I don't think that you'll be able to have an enjoyable experience, even after a lot of patches. If you have a 3500+ with AM2 socket, and DDR2 memory, then it should be very easy to get a decent processor for this game ( 5000+ or higher ). If you have a 939 socket, well, you either play the game at slow speed or get a serious upgrade ( mobo + CPU + RAM ).

People with i7s probably have more complaints than people with slower CPUs.
With an AMD 3500+ I would definitely try it out before buying a new motherboard or system.

Would Hoi3 run on a Lenovo W500?

Lenovo ThinkPad W500 (4061-W1Q )
Core 2 Duo T9400 (2.53GHz/6MB/1066FSB),
4GB/4GB (PC3-8500 DDR3 1067MHz),
ATI Mobility FireGL V5700 with 512MB VRAM,
15.4" WSXGA+ (1680x1050), UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad),
I'm not familiar with GPU cards (integrated don't work that I know from first hand :( )

'cause now even people with I7's have complaints.

I have an i7 and I don't have any complaints. A month flies by at 2:15 seconds sometimes even less. Pretty much people that are having problems obviously have other issues with their systems they aren't even aware of like viruses, malware hidden and can only be removed by a reformat. Bad motherboard in general, bios hasn't been updated in years or at all. You know you're suppose to check for bios updates once a month just like a video driver or sound driver. A lot of people think just because they can build a PC means they know how to optimize one and troubleshoot it but the majority don't.

I really would not be throwing out accusations that people have "other issues". The number of people having no performance problems, like yourself (congradulations) is a small minority to the vast majority who find the game to be underperforming even with very updated and sophisticated hardware and software. Many are computer savy and have updated everything that posesses a driver.

If i7 performs better than XP or Vista...well then thats something but thats again a minority of people. Many, many people meet the recommended requirements and a month still passes in a minimum of 4-5 minutes, which comes out to about an hour for a years time in the game.

2 minutes here and i don't got strong PC...its mostly OC :)

Still people could use fev tweaks if they have problems 4-5 minutes a month is too long its well unplayable...

Still its hard to belive i7 are so slow in this game...

I've played the game on 2 systems, my Mother's laptop which had a 2 gig intel processor, and a cheap graphics card, with 2 gigs of ram, from a usb flash drive and it was very very slightly lagged and never had any problems. Then I installed it on my desktop at home after getting back from my visit with my Mother, the desktop has an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ with a geforce 6200 and a gig of ram on windows xp, slightly more lag on the desktop but still infinitely playable.

Nope, it's running it fine, if the memory were higher it would run it smooth as a baby's bottom.

How do you know how smooth baby's bottom is? (kidding if you want i will edit this...)

Hm so i guess 2gb and it will be fine...

And about cpu hm someone said that he is running game on single core hm i think and is getting quite nice performance...

Just overclocked mine to 4.0ghz and tested as UK and now runs full month in 1.26

I don't really like overclocking though it wears and tears your processor down way faster than default.

No it doesn't. Your processor will be long outdated before it burns out from an i7 being OC'd to 4.0ghz. Impressive gain though. That is more like what you should expect to be getting.
