... or I do not get it. Each time I attack, I give the moving units that order. However, they still do not arrive at the same time, meaning that they then get slaughtered separately by counterattacks. Am I doing something wrong?

Yes, you have to use ctrl :)
If you group together several groups and want to send them to a province you just use ctrl while at the same time clicking on the target province. Then you can control when the units arrive at the province.

Thanks guys. Is there also a way to synchronize the arrival of several attacking groups which attack from DIFFERENT provinces?
Yes, exactly the same way. You just have to select them by dragging the cursor :)

Yes, if you draw a box around several provinces you can order them all at once. When you select some corps with the mouse while holding the shift key you can remove them from the attack.

The game will also remember the time of the last order so you can use it to time multiple attacks at the same time, although it can be annoying when you have to deal with multiple fronts, each with their own traveldistances, time of sunrise etc. :)

Basically, if you set one group from one province to attack at a given date, then select the troops from the next province over and have them attack, it will by default use the attack date of the previous set (unless this current group will take longer to get there), so that both arrive at the same time.

What I normally do is test to see how long it takes different units from differet provinces to get there, and then choose the slowest troop's time as the time for the attack.

For instance Armor might get there quicker than infantry with an artillery brigade attached, so I set the Infantry's ETA as the time for the other forces to arrive too.
