Synchronisation - Mac & PC systems; Steam newbie

Hi guys. I've been away from my PC for the last few days and I couldn't resist installing steam and downloading EUIV (I had preordered the extreme edition) on my MacBook. Since Internet access was kind of restricted while I was on my trip I began a campaign offline (not in Ironman mode). My questions are these:

1. When I downloaded EUIV on the MacBook, did I also download the included Preorder bonuses? I am kind of confused because I see "Pre-order Pack" available for purchase in Steam. This one includes "The 100 Years War Unit Pack " and "The Purple Phoenix Expansion", which I'm sure I have on the PC. But for that matter, I also have the "Digital Extreme Upgrade" available for purchase in Steam.
2. I didn't buy EUIV from Steam, but directly from Paradox's site, and in my email the product name is "Europa Universalis IV: Extreme Edition". What does this include exactly? I don't suppose "Extreme Edition" includes anything featured in "Digital Extreme Upgrade", or does it?
3. On my MacBook I started a campaign as Castille. Is it technically possible to play that savegame on the PC version of EUIV? If yes, is there a way to synchronise my savegames folders between MacBook and PC, or do I have to move the file manually?

I'm sure I don't have the Call to arms Pack, because I didn't participate in that campaign, so I'm buying that Thanks!

Upon starting the game, in the launcher I see the following DLCs checked: 100 Years War Unit Pack, Conquest of Constantinople Music Pack, Horsement of the Crescent Unit Pack, National Monuments, Purple Phoenix, Star and Crescent, Winged Hussar Unit Pack.

1. Yes, of course - with Steam all DLCs are always downloaded and installed every time you install the game on a machine
2. the extreme upgrade is for those who bought the vanilla game and then decide they want the Extreme Edition extras after all. Vanilla+Extreme upgrade is identical to Extreme. Extras in Extreme listed here http://www.paradoxplaza.com/games/europa-universalis-iv
3. yes, of course. Have you noticed the "cloud save" buttons and features? Use that.

Thank you I discovered the cloud checkbox myself a bit after I posted. It will be much more convenient to transfer my Spanish campaign on my PC. Bigger display and faster machine

It appears Steam shows DLCs as buyable even after you've bought them.

One more question that I forgot to ask yesterday - I bought the Call-to-Arms Pack mostly for the Strategy guide. I looked around in Steam's EUIV directory but I didn't see the pdf anywhere. How do I get my hands on the guide?

I tried transferring savegame from Mac to PC through the cloud today. Although I see my England savegames made from the PC when I open Savegames from the Mac, I don't see the (Mac) Spain save I made on the cloud when viewing from the PC. I still see the Spain save and all the England saves through the Mac version of the game.

The mac version always, the PC - I'm not sure. Can I manually tell it to synch? I'll try to look for such a feature.

I just entered and exited the game (PC) and Steam didn't sych. I have a hypothesis - steam only synchs if I load and save a game on the system I've started it from, that's why it's not synching and it has no chance to see there is a new savegame to download I'll try making a savegame on the cloud from the PC and see if synching will bring my Spain savegame.

I wasn't correct Or maybe only half way. After I loaded a save (from the cloud but I don't think it matters) and made a new save on the cloud (this is what most probably matters), exited the game and the steam synch fired up. Now I reopened EU4 but my Spain save still isn't visible.

No, but it happens automatically when you exit the game (whether you have to have changed a cloud-saved game I'm not sure, probably). You see the game in the library turn green and sync, just like when you install or a patch gets applied.

I sync the same game both ways perfectly fine.

I still need you to definitively say. Make a new game at one end and save to the cloud, exit - presumably it syncs out. Load it at the other end, play a day, save and exit the game - does it sync out to Steam?

Sorry, I was unclear. I've confirmed that the game only synchs with the cloud if it has something to synch. When I made a new savegame it did synch, but after the synch the Spain savegame that is visible for me from the Mac is still not visible from the PC.

Right, but after successfully syncing out, when you load it at the other end and play a day or so and then save again and then exit - does it sync again?

You mean does the Mac synch with the cloud? I'm pretty sure that yes, but I'll experiment. You mean I should load on the Mac a save from the cloud that I made with the PC? Or it doesn't matter the system I made it with?

I don't care about the OS. For my last few posts I've been trying to determine whether both ends of your cloud save sync problem have been trying - and succeeding - in syncing to the cloud or not.

I tried opening a savegame and saving to the cloud again. Upon exiting the game I took notice if Steam would synch and it did. I then checked from the other computer. This time both the previous and newly made Spanish saves were visible. So the issue is resolved Thanks!
