Hello everyone, I'm currently working on a Sword of Truth mod. I was wondering if anyone else would be interested in playing.

I'm working on the map now, and I'm wondering if maps have to be 2048x2048, or if they can be wider in one direction than another.
I will post pics when the map is done, but I've got a lot of school work so it might be a while.

That seems interesting. Is it more based on the books or the series? There are after all some big differences.

I take it the Mud People and so on will be treated as vassals of the Midlands council? This should protect them from being eaten by the other nations.
I think the map needs to be 2048x2048, but I could be wrong.

Have you decided on your tiers yet, and do you know what sort of point in the time line you intend to start?

I've never seen the show before, so it will be based on the book.
Well I have two ideas in mind now. One is to see if I can edit the localization files and rename every tier to the next highest tier. Like Kingdoms now would be called "Empires" and Baronies would be "Counties." This would make up for the lack of detail provided in the books. For Instance, D'Hara does not have many defined places, it is mostly just empty plains, yet it is an empire and not a kingdom. It would be king level but be called an empire.
The second idea is to leave the tiers normal but make up a bunch of fictional cities to make the game more in depth.

Either way, all of the lands in the Midlands, including the Mud People, will be united under the Mother Confessor at the start scenario. I will work on the start first and eventually add to the timeline once the start scenario is finished.

I already have the map split into 35 areas or so that I'm planning on dividing further. Just not sure how fine I'm going to divide them and how much will be fictional.

Main Problem I'm having now, I have only divided the Westland into 2 or 3 areas, with one of the areas being almost uninhabited. I will work this out though.

In not too long I will be able to post how I divided the lands on here.

I could totally use some help once I get it established, but right now, not much you could help with.
I'm not sure how character portraits work. If you could make some for key characters that would be cool.
Maybe some custom traits like Additive Magic, Subtractive Magic, Dream Walker, things like that.
If you have any other ideas than please contribute.

Here's Where I am now with the map. I will be dividing these provinces up into more provinces, along with adding routes to travel through the mountains (like with Bandakar), and making the mountains into provinces of their own. Except for some of the smaller ones in Midlands, each of these provinces can be considered a duchy, and will be split into counties. White is land that will remain Terra Incognita, and Black will be made into a combination of counties and barriers.

But AFAIR Verna once said that comparing New and Old World is like comparing stone and table... maybe the new world could be more in size of UK in comparison to Europe.

THe black blobs are barriers, aren't they?

And my idea for biggest cities (like People's Palace) is to make them as duchies with count-level tiers as heads of districts, or even heads of administration (like chief guard, Mord-Sith and so on).

She did say this, but you could say the same comparing Europe to the Mongol Empire, and I will make the same scenario with Jagang. I'm not sure how the Mongol invasion works in CK 2, but I plan on using these mechanics with the Imperial Order.

I *could* use your idea with big cities like the People's Palace, but I'm not sure how I would make the counts landed, it would look weird on the map.

And the black blobs are mountain ranges that you can assume no one lives in and are very hard to travel. I don't think I'm going to include the barriers. I know the barrier between the Old and New World is important, but I doubt I could find a way to close off land temporarily.
