I just synched my account for the first time in... years? Quite a long time, anyway. I'm able to see the Hearts of Iron 4 forums just fine and I bought that just a couple of weeks back. I bought SotS2 back when it first came out and I bought SotS1 a few days ago on Steam. Yet I can't see any SotS threads. I can see that there's 97 pages of threads and even page through them but it's an empty list every time!
Anyway, there's a really bad situation on Steam. The keys being handed out do not work and haven't for a few weeks now. The whole system has had issues since around April and a work-around was discovered but now the work around no longer works. The only way to make it work is to use a common key (starting with BAD instead of SOTS). There doesn't seem to be any issue with SotS 2. Or at least not yet. GoG looks fine, too. No surprise given that won't have DLC.
Kerberos forums have been down for weeks for maintenance.
I don't know what the legal situation is these days between Kerb and Paradox but Steam still lists Paradox as the publisher of SotS 1. Somebody needs to get in there and say something! (Preferably "we have just updated SotS 1 to the drm-free version.")
P.S. Looks like the last post was clear back in 2015 so maybe the forums are locked down in some way?
