Sword of Islam not recognised

Hi, I bought the Sword of Islam dlc on steam when it was on sale and just tried to play some ck2 with my friend, however I don't seem to be able to play as Muslim. I made sure the box was ticked in the launcher and I've relaunched the game multiple times but every time it tells me that I can't play Muslim without the Sword of Islam dlc. I bought the dlc through steam rather than the ingame store and I read that it should automatically be applied.
Couldn't find anyone mentioning this problem anywhere so was wondering if I could get some help?

I can't answer this, as I never had this issue, but if you go to the tech support forum they might be able to.

The only thing I can think of is the installation location- is it programfiles or something else?

Did you close steam and restart it. Also restarting your computer might also be a good idea.

could it be that your version of Crusader Kings 2 is from GamersGate (you mentioned NOT buying it from the in-game store, which if I'm not mistaken is only present in the GG version)?
steam dlc is only compatible with the steam version of CK2, and GG dlc with GG CK2

I had this problem until I verified the game cache for CKII in Steam. I only found this thread when searching for a solution, so I thought I'd post mine.

Steam has been messing up today. I can't get into the community pages at all, and it doesn't even load my DLCs. I'll try the cash fix.
