Switzerland joins Allies? - How is this historical?

Switzerland just joined Allies in my supposedly historical game. How is this possible? Switzerland has not been in any war since 1505 and now in "historical mode" they jump in with both feet?

In WtT there is a national focus of Germany to invade Switzerland, so they could have done that if you are not of historical

It is on historical and I didn't see any German DOW just announcement that Swiss joined the allies. If Germany did DOW that is even more stupid because as you can see they are firmly on the back foot in Western Europe and had no troops on Swiss border.

In my current game Germany declared war on Switzerland, and then they joined the allies. I don't ever remember seeing this happen in a HOI game before. Playing as Japan on historical, and this happened around 42-43.
