What's the penalty for three embargoes? That would be the price of having a complete monopoly over American CoTs...
3 embargoes? Your TE drops 15% and you lose 15/month in trade tech investment. I never, ever embargo.

Going back to the embargo thing... all penalties are revoked when you cancel the embargo.
I haven't spotted the Incas. Nothing has happened in the war of Castille and GBR, except that Gbraltar is rebelling.

Aren't Castille and Portugal mercantilistic? He shouldn't have many troubles keeping them completely out of owned CoTs.
I'm under the impression that embargoes gave -2% trade efficiency and -2 monthly investment. 5 is an unreasonable amount.

Obviously they saw through you and decided you should pay for sending them straight to war with Spain. Sometimes the AI is a lot smarter than you think.
Maybe it should have waited until the war with Spain was over though.:wacko:

Why? It worked fine.
It worked fine for you but not for GB that lost a lot of colonies, so they should have waited for their war with Spain to finish before attacking you.
Chapter Twelve: Punition
This is a bit shorter update.
Last time I conquered the Iroquis. But Holland is colonizing in the north and now borders us, so I decide to take the advantage of their high BB. There's no turning back:
Holland + two landlocked nations. Not a big deal.
The war lasts for 2 years, and only two battles were fought. Finally in 1571, the war is over:
More colonies, now most of North America's coast is in my possession. Only few British colonies and one French colony remains.
Secured. In the war against Holland my navy proved it's worth: my 18-ship navy destroyed the 24-ship Holland navy, containing some troops. Unfortunately it took heavy losses (only 6 ships remaining), and I'll build more.
But, but. I think I could be able to defend provinces in Europe. My yearly net gain is over 80, so I can easily raise an elite army (thanks to the recent land tech, giving me free shooters & mauricians). What do you think? Spain is in extremely instable situation...
