They mentioned somewhere (WWW, maybe?) that it's possible for a minor country to be the leading player in nuclear tech and the first to unlock nukes. It requires too much research and industry effort to be an "easy" strategy though.

Let's be real here only majors ( Luxembourg Bhutan Tanna Tuva Nepal Sinking ) Will be able to have a huge nuclear weapons program maybe medium powers like Navarra and Monaco later on but even then it's a stretch.

HOI4 is set in the 30s and 40s not the 60s, well you can play after 1948 but the game tech tree is designed for a 1948 end,

Well Sweden did build up a rather powerful airforce in the cold war time period but that is outside HOI4.

By around the end of the war the most advanced light aircrafts Sweden had access to:
  • P-51 Mustang: American aircraft used as fighters.
  • Supermarine Spitfire: British aircrafts used as scouts.
  • FFVS J22: Swedish aircrafts that did not make use of aluminium. A better fighter then the Mustang at low altitudes but worse at high altitudes.
  • Saab J21: Swedish aircrafts, first designated as a fighter but it was a far better as a ground support aircraft. It was one of the few noteworthy pusher aircraft which also made it possible to convert it into a jet aircraft. It was one of the first aircraft that used a ejection seat, which was forced due to the pusher configuration. It seems like this aircraft could carry a heavier load of rockets then the Mustang (some Mustangs could carry 6 rockets other 10 but the american rockets all seems to had a smaller diameter then the swedish ones) while being a lighter aircraft with a weaker engine. Its pusher configuration is probably the reason why. Its heavy nose mounted guns would probably also be an advantage in ground attacks. The jet version could carry even heavier loads. Also read that test with adding an extra 8 lighter guns for a total of 13 guns was done and the recoil was so powerful the aircraft stalled, but the jet version could maybe use this gun mount.

well,m what the point of having nukes and "migthy wings" while some "peasants with forks" just can walk into your capital and major cities and capture you, because you lacked land forces ?
or you will nuke own land ? lot of it ?
