swedish law against jews?

Around yr 1820

Is it true that sweden forbid jews to live within its borders?
I heard this statement as a carryower into finnish law..

Russian jews could live here if they were "army", and not civilians

Judaism have been restricted in Europe since a long time ago. In 1492 resp '97 the Spanish and Italian nations forbid Judaism within its borders, and this spread.

However in the 1600s the Dutch let Jews settle within their country in exchange of large charges. From Holland Jews moved to Scandinavia. Rembember at this time religion was fundamental, so to speak, and Sweden was a protestant country and according to the law, only Protestantism was allowed. Therefore the first Jews were allowed to settle if they were baptized. The ideas of the Enlightening spread to Sweden and in 1782 Gustav III (a king who was very addicted to the French Englightening) allowed Jews to settle in Stockholm, Karlskrona, Göteborg and Norrköping witout having to convert. The Jews got full citizenship in France after the revolution, 1832 in the UK, 1838 in Sweden and 1848 in various other countries.

Why Poland had such huge Jews population at the beginning of WW2?
Because when inqusition appear Polish Commonwealth was the only kingdom in Europe where they were nor persecuted, so there were massive migrations. (not only Jews but also other "heretics")
I dont say Jews were warmly welcomed or were liked but at least they found "safety" here.... Until XXw

Sweden permitted jewish immigrants from 16th century, but they were required to pay for the privilage.

Polish Jews aquired equal status in acordance with Duchy of Warsaw Constitution in 1807...
However many privileges were issued by kings and Sejm from 1300s.

In Norway it was against the constitution for jews to live there. They were not allowed before 1851.
