Jakob says, that sweden has an enormous potential in HOI4. I was thinking about invading norway, denmark, finland, the netherlands and the baltic states with them and join the axis.

How long would a conversion to a fascist government would take? Does anyone know something about that?

They do have alot of steel, I counted it to more then 200 units (you could see in the wednesday stream that Sweden could sell about 110 steel, given that Sweden probably use the export focus law which mean they sell half their production which would mean they have 220 units of steel produced.

With that amount of steel they should not be as dependent on trade as many other minor which free up more of their industry for military equipment.

The problem for Sweden is that they have a small population so you will most likely have to go for a top quality army, don't know how much manpower you recive from conquered states but it could help you I guess.

I think he was just talking in relation to Finland or perhaps even the other Scandinavian countries, but not on a scale with the rest of the world.

Sweden has a large potential compared to Finland. However, compared to other minors, they probably aren't that great save for their massive steel reserves.

And compared to the major seven, they're little more than a nuisance.

Might have to try a Sweden + Finland coop campaign one time.

The Cock and Balls of Europe will rise!

Ok, well that AAR needs to happen.

Sweden is always fun in Paradox games because they (especially in Vicky 2) tend to get some pretty good bonuses that they may not entirely deserve. Regardless, I bet a united Scandinavia Sweden could throw enough weight around to make a few of the other nations pay some attention. Especially if you join the Axis, Sweden would be in prime position to completely overwhelm the Soviets around Moscow, and force them to stretch their lines much farther than they can afford to with the German war machine coming hard from the west.

The Moscow thing is exactly what i thought about too. If it would work, i really would love to give Germany a hand and would like to focus on some fast motorized divisions to backstab the ussr in their struggle. The ussr AI has two choices. They could either thin out their western front to germany (after poland has been taken) and defend the northern front to sweden as well (after finland has been taken). Or they concentrate more against the western front and leave only some units at the northern front. Either way, they are pretty weakened.

If Japan can be convinced, to join the campaign from the east, the soviets are probably doomed.

The other thing would be the aur defense against the allies in the west. Since strategic bombers could have an enormous range and would probably be a very hard work for my fighters, i might not really win, the new gained soviet territories might be far away enough, to not be bombed by GB.

I think, that Sweden can be a lot of fun and dangerous, if you play them right.

This is one game, i really look forward to...

It's has a military potential compared to it's minor neighbours. It's probaly musch easier for sweden to annex rest of the nordic compared to norway, denmark, or finland. I'ts has much potential compared on how it's military power is 1936.

Sweden can probably get Norway without any issue, but I wonder how it will be able to get Denmark and Finland without earning the ire of Germany and the Soviets.

Be careful. Undescended testicles are the main cause for testicular cancer.

Ok, maybe cancer is the thing that you want to be in a Paradox-color-the-map-game.
