Sweden needs all those factories to support the many bikini models that live in Sweden. You ever tried to support a pretty woman in a bikini with only one factory? It can't be done. You need at least 5 factories per model. Those accessories don't manufacture themselves you know.

Sweden probably has five times as many Paradox customers as Hungary and Romania put together, so from that perspective it probably makes sense at launch.
I doubt it have much to do with the nationality of the consumers, otherwise we would only see one Japanese general ;)

But it doesn't take many minutes to google search Hungarian and Romanian manufacturers from the ww2 era;

I think that part of the stuff with factories and such are that since Paradox is a Swedish company it is is alot easier to find information and make it for Sweden then for other countries.
If its really fast and simple to do for them, why not do so?

But should Sweden have about as many potential factories as Canada? Per population Sweden have access to more factories then any major.

Sweden had a bit above half the population, which means they were alot more densely populated into a smaller area.
I dont know how Canada were on densely populated areas for factory building?

Well, as above: Johan is nerfing Sweden now, so no worries :D

Also: 4th biggest air-force when the war was over, and a few years forward. It takes alot of Industi to build up that. Sweden was OP at that time except for manpower (army around 500K, I belive during the war...), but no war means no chanse to prove it was the case...

The highest number mobilized at one time that I can find at the moment seem to have been 320 000 men. During a few weeks after the german invasion of Norway and Denmark, that was almost everything that could be mobilized.

In 1941 Sweden had 10 "Fördelningar" of roughly 20 000 men each (Divisions for the rest of the world), along with 1 infantry regiment on Gotland.
8. Motorized brigade was formed in 1941 from the cavalry brigade (Reformed to the 8. Tank brigade in 1943).
7. Motorized brigade was formed in 1943

9. & 10. Tank brigades was formed in 1943

Along with all above the artillery, engineers, anti aircraft and some other branches of the army formed some war time units.

The homeguard of some 90000 men was also formed during the early parts of the war.

It was almost ten years after the war that Sweden had the fourth largest airforce in the world in 1957.

I see numbers of roughly 400,000-450,000 men at the time the transit deal through Sweden by Germans stopped in late 43.
On average Sweden had roughly 250,000 men on average called in at any time.
This include independent units of the army not part of larger units.

320 000 in the army + 90 000 in the homeguard would be roughly thoose 400 000 figures you have seen. So it's probably correct.

When you start googeling in english you find a bit more extensive information.

http://www-solar.mcs.st-and.ac.uk/~aaron/sweeds.html

From that 400.000 seem correct, and the sources I viewed in swedish said 320.000 a bit confusing.

Edit: Found information online from the Swedish War Archive that said 320.000 men during the weeks that followed the german invasion of Denmark and Norway.
