Well, another problem with capitalists. I for now play as Sweden, the year is 1846 and my capitalists have gathered around 4000-13000 but won't build anything. What to do? I even have early railroad but they doesn't even build experimental

If you are...

Try a save + reload. Seems that the engine has forgotten about them!?

Usually Capitalists will build stuff - in fact there is a bug where they lose money and don't build things! So to save up that amount and for nothing to happen just seems like they have been forgotten or something!?

Capitalists only build in Revolutions.

Ok, and yes that's right, they only build in rev so that's what I'm playing :)

What is the economic policy of your ruling party then?

Capitalists did(do?) the same thing that Aristocrats do for RGOs, but for factories instead. So, they increase the earnings of factories a certain %, iirc it might have been 50 but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I still have 'Det Konservativa Partiet' and now 10 years after last time I asked they STILL don't build stuff.

And even if I have state capitalism I've never seen any caps gather 16 000 without losing, spending or using any of it

I thought in revolutions capatlists only build in in interventionism and lassie faire. Not any other form of govenment (state capatlist or planned).

Oh, and 4000-13000 is a lot of cash. Are they buying bonds?

EDIT - I say I thought, I mean I am nearly 100% positive. Try changing govenments to one with the above economic policies.

Theoretically they should build under SC, but it will be very expensive for them and I can't remember having seen it personally.

Yes, according to the manual you are correct. If you really want your capatlists to do anything though, you should get one of the other types of govenments I mentioned above. I think under state capatlism you should take control of industilisation. Capatlists will (if they do anything at all) only add a token amount towards it (hence why it is state capatlism).

The thing is that the caps do not build railroads either but I'll change to 'Det Liberala Partiet' instead and see if anything happens ( although they only have a 10% support :) )

What are your voting rights? IIRC Sweden starts with 'Landed', but if you change to 'Wealth', a liberal party would most likely win the elections.

Capitalists did(do?) the same thing that Aristocrats do for RGOs, but for factories instead. So, they increase the earnings of factories a certain %, iirc it might have been 50 but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

They increase factory efficiency by an amount dependent on the amount of capitalists existing. I can't remember what the exact productivity increase was, but it is rather large, and for the whole state in which they are. If you have 500k capitalists (333k with meritocracy) in the state, you get the maximum bonus for their presence. You may be right, and that bonus might be a .5 added to the efficiency multiplier.

They are a lot more useful than aristocrats, who, IIRC, only affect their own province, and given the extremely high base RGO productivity values in Victoria 1.4, give a rather insignificant bonus to production.
