I started playing on the SVN yesterday, and I noticed that I almost always have an epidemic nearby, i'm about 25 years into the game and have already had to shut the gates 3 times, and have seen epidemics of different diseases overlapping one another on two occasions because they spawn so frequently.

Maybe it could be turned down a notch or two for the actual release? :p

You don't need to shut the gates for every epidemic. Get yourself a good court physician and they'll easily take care of most of your disease problems (unlike vanilla, you need not worry about limbs being hacked off).

Or if your physician stinks and you have a lot of money, have them use healing scrolls. Those generally work regardless of the healer's skill level.

I've found that diseases are a none factor when it comes to a personal level, your court physician can easily take care of even the dreaded flu if he's even just decent, thanks to the cure disease potion.

What is utterly destructive, however, is the supply limit they inflict on provinces. Add onto any negative province modifiers and winter effects, and you've got yourself 100 supply limit, and thousands of dead troops.

Tbh I got the feeling epidemics hadn't been adjusted for the fact that hospitals can no longer be built. It's not that they're too deadly, just too frequent/spread too quickly. Even playing the supposedly disease-resistant high elves, my realm was constantly infected.

On a similar note, disease resistance spells aren't effective enough/long lasting enough to justify their mana cost atm imo. Even as a high level wizard, keeping disease resistance maintained on just a handful of provinces will use up all of your mana, and it's not clear it has that much effect.

The cure disease spell (at least the province version) I don't think is working at all. At the very least it needs its success chance adjusted.

The Khanaten Flu is also bugged at the moment in the SVN. Even with the 100% cultural province resistance to disease as an Argonian, the disease has just hit and infected a few Argonian members of my court.

They can be built. Ruins were moved to province modifiers and hospitals were restored, though, they are being changed into shrines.

In -theory- it should work, but that scripted effect has always been glitchy. I might run some additional tests and if it is still broken, I will disable it from the spellbook. Might remove it permanently.
